Use this LED Calculator.
the link asks me following parameters to fill
Source voltage
diode forward voltage
diode forward current (mA)
I think Source volatage should be 12 volds, can you tell about others.

If you intend to run it through the cigarette lighter, the source voltage is 12 V. But, if you are connecting it to the battery, the voltage is 13.4 V (when the engine is on).

For diode forward voltage, there is a ("?") next to it. Because, different colored lights have different forward voltage.
Ask the guy from whom you purchased the LED, about the max. voltage of the LED.

Diode forward current: 20 mA

Thanks for admiring my D.I.Y. stuff

just to update, you guys can use 330 ohm resistor too, this will help most Blue L.E.D. to run longer, few Blue L.E.D.'s were not able to sustain 2-3 months on 100ohms one.
