Wow, we actually have some real past Jaya engine owners. Welcome board Mr. Skumar.
@Mr. B.R.S.Rao: I think Matador engines were leaking oil, and then some ambassadors fitted with Trekker engine for the fuel efficiency. But the Trekker engine had starting trouble but was quiet.

Nissan and Isuzu were the two which were most popular up here in North. Isuzu was considered with more grunt as compared to Nissan. Can't comment about Nissan but Isuzu was also available as brand new. The spec was 2 litre producing 54 bhp, if I remember it correctly. The engine was quite punchy and could be easily coupled with 5 speed gearbox.

I am sure about Isuzu, couple of friends bought it for Contessa and Gypsy and it was brand new or as they say "Paity Pack"

Where do i get a complete Nissan Diesel Engine with gear box assembly neatly mated in south India?
Preferable a sealed New Engine for a Jeep /Gypsy.Planning a scratch build the same.
I know you get it in Mumbai but where and from whom ?I have even heard in coimbatore TN.But i need contacts to close the deal.
