Go to any major tyre and alloy wheel shop. Should find plenty of these with them as customers throw them away or exchange them when they purchase alloys.

@zen_2001 : Did you call up MASS in your city? I guess they have it for sale. Also they might have brand new rims as people exchange it for alloys during delivery. It would be best if you go for new steel rims or very little used.

If steel rims costs 800 & alloys costs ard 1800, whats better?

Let me know how it went. Im planning to change the steel rims after 5-6 months with tires.

I'll try both MASS & tyre dealers. Thanks for the inputs everyone. Just not made up my mind regarding sticking with R12 or upsizing to R13. From what I've read on various tyre related threads, the drive quality seems to be best with 145/80 R12, especially on bad roads, while handling improves with 155/60 (or 155/65) R13. Just don't want to take any chances with the suspension and overall safety.

Default Driver seat re-cushioning/swapping

As I have been driving alone most of the times, I've noticed that the driver seat base has sagged to the extent that I feel I'm actually sitting on the frame! In comparison, the other seats feel absolutely new.

In addition, 2 of the under seat springs have come out, which is not helping at all. Can I get the seat base re - furbished or will the entire seat need to be changed? I had asked MASS to swap the front seats, but I guess with the difference of height in the seat rails, its not possible. Or is it?

@Zen2001: I too have the same problem. I have kept delaying it from quiet few weeks. I asked a shop at JC Road who does only seat refurbish for cars. He said an estimate of 500rs only on my description, but said, he needs to see the seat to give exact estimate.

I plan to fix it every weekend, but something else takes priority! Temporarily i use either a folded-chaddar or thin pillow.

My Friend has 98 model carb zen which he parks at my home, sometimes water comes out in same quantity but not with so much smoke. Yours is smoking too much. Carbon coming out with water is normal.

My friend took his zen at mechanic for minor brakes work and soon after starting the mechanic found some missing, on revving a little car started spitting coolant from exhaust I was suspecting blown gasket when he used to tell me about heating problem but when head was open yesterday, not just gasket the whole head was gone !

Some pics:

When engine oil was drained, it was like mud.

Mechanic had a type 2 esteem engine of which he offered us the head for 2k, little bargain and he agreed to do work in 2k inclusive of labor charges

Whole day went but around 7 pm when engine was started, water was again entering piston block. Now day 2 work (i.e., today) will be to resurface block (head resurface was already done).

Default 12" MGP rims

After much deliberation (over upsizing - handling/ride quality/non PS), I have decided to stick with the original configuration of 145/80 R12, only to find that not only tyres, but also the rims of this size (4J) are not easily available (in Pune) I've tried MASS, MGP spare part shops, tyre retailers (Nagar Rd & Mumbai Pune old highway) & even the new Carnation auto hub.. Any solutions or advice will be highly appreciated.
