@Akrem : Checked with my service advisor. You will need the G-16 gear box.

It is based on an old Mercedes design. So try to find a gearbox from any of the older Mercedes diesel cars.

I just saw that you live Out of India! other wise old Estate gear box may also be compatible which is dirt cheap here in India.

What is the nature of GB now, what do you exactly mean by failure. As each parts of gearbox is serviceable/replaceble instead of changing whole GB.

Unless the whole bell housing is cracked of something.

What is the problem with the gearbox?
The engine number suggest it's the same engine used in the TL,Safari, etc in short the Turbocharged 2.0L engine. So the TL gear box will fit.

Tata Sumo or Tata Safari's gearbox should fit.
But, the ratios would differ.

@Nitrous, Sumo / Safari has the G-76 g/b. The exact model Akrem needs is the G-16. Possibly salvaged from another 207 / TataMobile / Estate ?

There was a TOYOTA Hilux converted [in belgaum, kanataka ] to run tha TATA 483 Turbo engine as the original engine had it's block cracked, do not know if the gear box was changed, but the 4wd was retained so I think the originla drive line was in the vehicle, You can try that gear box.[it will need an adapter plate].

Sorry did not see the Model year. it's the original 2.0L engine
