Default Update

All parts arrived. The complete unit is replaced.
Twist: After the parts were swapped, the ESP light on the meter console just wouldn't go off. They are still trying to figure out why it has turned ON. It's been about 6 days since and yet no result.
Waiting and waiting.

I must comment that it's taken unusually long to fix your car. Were you offered a substitute Mercedes, for the time that your car was off the road? If not, here's a suggestion DCIL.

I hope the repairs were covered under goodwill warranty?

Try driving the car at about 20km and steer it left and right the ESP will switch off.

This happens on Laura after Battery cable removed.

As mentioned earlier, all repairs FOC (under goodwill warranty).
They have provided me an E240 (badged as E280!) but that car is junk. Takes about ten minutes to start, that is, if i am lucky. The steering is harder than my no-power-steering Zen. And with each bump, the glovebox opens up automatically. So i am just using my other cars till then.

UPDATE:

Got my car back today at 2130 hours. Did a short test drive, seems good. So the total time is almost 7 weeks but the good thing is, no expenses. I am delighted on having got it back!
