Default Noisy Swift after going over a pothole at high speed

Today morning, on the way to my workplace, I accidently drove my car - Swift Vdi - into a pothole. There was a loud thud noise from the front left wheel.

I pulled over and inspected the car, and found no damage.

But, afterwards when I drove it over uneven road surface, a irritating screeching noise came from the front left wheel. What could be the problem? There seems to be no visible damage. What can be the issue?

It could be a damaged mudflap rubbing against the wheel in motion

Your lower arm bush might be damaged. If you run your car with this problem, it may lead to uneven tyre wear. Inspect your car with your authorized service cener immediately.

Open the bonnet and see if anything like horn is loose. If nothing is loose it is better to visit a mechanic immediately.

If the suspension is the one causing the noise then i am sure the hole should be a nasty one.

You may have rim damage and or suspension damage.Checkout the Mcpherson Strut for damage as well.

Best to get it inspected at a garage. Unless you put it on a lift or slide under the car some damages may not be apparent. Since the noise is directly associated with going in to pot hole the chances of suspension are high.

Do you find that the car is pulling to one side when you leave the steering and drive (do this only on an empty road that is straight and has no tilt .
If it does pull, get your suspension checked completely. If you keep driving you run the risk of wearing out the tyre very quickly.

The car is not pulling to one side. Its running smooth. At lower speeds, there is no noise at all. But, whenever I accelerate the car to over 70-80 km/hr speed, I can hear knick-knack screeching type of sound.
Will be taking the car to MASS tomorrow.

Got it checked last week. Problem diagnosed - One of the rods (don't know what it is called) near the wheel was bent, got it replaced. Now, the car is functioning as smooth as ever.

Even I would like to know how much it cost. And make sure oyu get wheel alignment done asap. Otherwise, your tyre could wear unevenly.
