Even that is tarnished now, with so many recalls of Toyota elsewhere.

FIAT never took indian customers seriously, not before not now, despite the fact they have good technical know how.

I got my Punto's wheel alignment and balancing done for the first time last week since i bought the car, I was surprised to see no uneven tyre wear. Even the Alignment was out very slightly. My car has done 20,000kms+.

Crossed ? You mean to say your right front went to left rear ? Is your tread uni-directional ?

If so, please don't do that. If you want to rotate the tyres just swap the rear tyres with front.

Cross rotation is not advisable on tyres with uni-directional tread.

i also agree to Anshuman & Somebodystopme as i did my tyre rotation & alignment/balancing at 10000 kms, there was no problem what so ever. Also it has been 17000 kms now & still (touchwood) alls well.

I suppose the issue stands as 'resolved' now.
Why there is no confirmation of the same by thread owner??

Checking this thread after a long time. If matter has been resolved then it would be good to hear the details about the same. If not then at least confirmation of "gag order imposition" is expected.

Default Disaster

Below is the update from Sachin,

Got the vehicle from Fiat on 16th June and same old story, Fiat peoples were saying that the wear is due to the Terrain and winding roads. The Car (my Punto) was with them for more than two months and they drove it for more than 12500 Kms. They drove the vehicle along with other New Punto on Lavasa road for almost 10000 Kms (thats what they said. Incidentally I once crossed the car on my way to office, stopped the cars and tried talking with the drivers not mentioning that I am the owner of the vehicle. The driver replied that the Tyre wear in my car much more than the other one. Even some of my colleagues asked the same question to the drivers at different times and got the same reply that the Tyre wear of my car is much more than that of the accompaning car. When I was called for meeting on 16th June Fiat team said that there is no wear. I told them about the feed back me and my colleagues got from the drivers who were driving the car on Lavasa Road, but the Fiat staff denied and said not to trust the words of the driver.

Also after I drove the vehicle after getting the vehicle back on 16th June I noticed that the vehicle was very very roughly handled and driven, it had following issues

1. There is a squeeking noise from the rear suspensions
2. Car is still dragging towards left (as it was from start)
3. The Alloys that FIAT said they are providing as a Goodwill geature are replaced by them with steel disc.
4. Left rear door lock is not working from inside
5. Boot tray is missing
6. Lighter is not working
7. AC back lights are not working
8. Scratches are there on the upper side of the rear left mud guard
9. Engine noise in the car cabin has increased
10. Functioning of Clutch has got harder.
11. Interior of the car is damaged many places

Sorry again for replying / updating you and friends on Team-BHP so late.

@MOD: Can you please change the heading - Update on Page 14

This is indeed an immensely disappointing situation.

BTW, when ACI showed the car to a tyre specialist and "incorrect castor" was diagnosed, didn't it get repaired then and there?

Go to court and give them a hard time. This is unheard of in this day and age. I am so sad to hear the predicament your friend is in.
