| BHPian | Hiya, Well i want to know of anyone else is experiencing this Whenever the Front Left of my Baleno FALLS into a pothole or similar thing, i get this hard thunk sound . This sound never comes up when you go over a bump, bad roads, speed breakers nothing. But whever you fall into a crater, this thunk turnks up. Had the suspension inspected at 1st service & nothing sited Also heard a similar report from my uncle in Delhi. The other thing is that i was in pune recently, and the parking slot has a steep short rampo up (building stilty parking) Whenever i reversed out of it alone- no prob Two people, just scraped the tarmac on the ramp on the LEFT side at a location about under the Fraont left passenger seat. 4 people - the left front actually beached and sat!!! on the ramp (of course the two was after the 4 people, its not like i was that daft, that after it scraped with2, i'd drive out with 4 |

| Yes, have expirenced it(the sound whenever the car goes into a crater at some speed) recently in a brand new baleno Bought 3 weeks back. Was repaired at the 1'st service and was traced to a faulty (rather loosely fitted) lower arm ( As told by the Service personnel). |

| Hey Revvhead I too have experienced such in my baleno when i bought a new one. or even when i test drive a brand new baleno, this suspension noise comes when u go into pot holes little hard (...ghad... like sound). Before i ignored it but when later it started sounding even in small potholes i got it check and they changed the damper in the front suspensions and the noise was gone. But i am sure this is some thing to do with the suspension stiffness. You better take it to the service and test drive your car with the service guy and show him, now it might be rare sound in big potholes but later it will be frequent.

Take it to the dealer, tell him to check the lower arms & the Dampers. Insist very strongly that the sounds are coming (as they never will when you take it to the garage!!) tell him that lots of complains from many owners/friends and if you feel like ask him to report this to maryuti ( i have done that) so they recognise the problem and cure it before it leaves the showroom

| I too have this problem in my Baleno and have given up. Seems like a design flaw, considering so many of us are experiencing it. Another design flaw in the Baleno: if u turn the steering wheel(either way) fully to one side and hold it there with some turning force , a sound like steam escaping from a pressure cooker comes. When i told this to the dealer he said it was hydraulic pressure and showed me a baleno parked in the showroom with the same issue !

| Folks, I had the same problem in my Baleno too. My question is: If the problem is with the dampers/lower arms, then why doesn't the company fix this issue before shipping the cars?!! This looks like a wide-spread problem to me and not isolated incidents.... ~Sonic |

| BHPian | The main thing is that the complaints have to reach back to the company. How many people are ensuring that it happens, Do the workshops/service centres pass on that info??? i dunno if the owners do it regularly, they may find a proper solution, run a service recall & rectify it on all cars Not sure if there is a complaint section on the maruti website, but if there is i think we should all direct out complaints there. It will wake them up as there are a lot of baleno owners here itself.
