Default 1996 Honda Civic AT sound

Hi folks,

I have been a silent reader since quite some time.I knew this place would the first stop incase of any queries. I am in US for a short assignment and bought a 1996 honda civic A/T. Its been 6 months since I own it and have been regularly changing oil as recommended.Offlate there is a clicking sound coming. It happens under the following conditions and certain findings

1) Car has been driven for a while
2) When i come to a stop and stay in D mode with the brake pedal pressed.
3) The sound disappears when in Neutral or parking otherwise it happens in all other modes.
4)The sound is loud.
5)Also i noticed that engine RPM goes below 1k mark.

Would appreciate any pointers that would help me find out the actual cause of this sound

Does this happens while in motion or on stand still. also is the sound continuous.

why i am asking this, because it can be attributed to drive shaft too and not the Auto box at all.

The car has done 130k..in Jan I had got done the overall check and timing belt was I
in good shape.

The sound is continous only when it's steady otherwise no sound at all when in motion

Thanks for the replies

Its definitely not a driveshaft then. Its hard to say in this situation. Can be attributed to Gearbox.

get it checked by some expert in your area.
