Default Laura - New Turbocharger, but poor FE

Okay, so I blew the Turbo charger the other day, and ran up a handsome bill of Rs. 2.07Lakhs and got it replaced.

However, ever since I've got the new Turbocharger, the car seems to stall while getting off red-lights (low RPM move out) and the fuel consumption has gone seriously wonky from 17kmpl down to about 12.5-13kmpl.

Someone told me that I need to get the turbo re-mapped and configured, and since both Silvertone Motors and Continental are shutting down, I have little faith in the other Skoda service stations in Delhi.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.

Try Fahrenheit or Arshia Motors. My experience with Fahrenheit has been good.

no. you do not need to remap your turbo. unless it is a VTG. with feedback. we dont have these in india.
please check if the hoses are correctly connected back in their place.
if it is really a problem with the t/c, you will get lower mileage and very high smoke.
please revert back after checking.

Duke, sorry to hear about your Laura's turbo-charger failure. How many kms up on the car?

Whoever has replaced the turbo has obviously done a shabby job (most prolly with the plumbing). However, it is that same service center which should set things right. Why should you go somewhere else and pay more, after having footed the 2.xx lakh rupee bill. Where did you get your turbo replaced from?

@abhinav.gupta88 - Will do... next stop Farenheit

@sumitdongerkery - Search me, Even I have no clue, I just accelerated a bit on the DND Toll bridge and *KAPUT* the turbo charger blew up (inside my pocket).

@GTO - The odo is south of 60k (by a bit) right now. The reason I'm going to another Skoda Service Center is because (1) Silvertone & (2) Continental are shutting down.
