If the airbags are so sensitive they will get banned in bangalore as few of the pot holes out here have the potential of successfully deploying the airbag without any hesitation the moment the car touches them!!!

The word is collision/impact not shakes and jolts

It is required by law that if power assist fails, the vehicle should still be steerable for safety reason. These checks are part of the vehicle certification process.
