Default how much doe palio 1.6 ecu cost?

hi my palio 1.6 had some starting issue, which was diagnosed by the service guys ( vst chennai) to a fault in the ecu. The cost of a new ecu according to the service station is 22k. is it a fair price??... can ecu be repaired at lower cost.. or are they available in auto parts shop in GP road in chennai??

You have to be a bit more specific. If it is a corrupted software issue, you won't need a new ECU. If it is hardware related you most likely will. But even if it is claimed according to diagnostics it does not necessarily mean that it is the actual problem.

Hari,

Make sure it is really an ECU fault and ask them to give some guarantee whether they would take back the ECU if you still have starting problems even after getting a replacement

Like I said I had problems and it seemed to go away after replacing the crank position sensor

@ makesh : any place that you know in chennai...that sells the ecu... checked in dhanam auto in cbe through a contact and he quoted 9k + taxes...dunno if its original though
@ bottle thanks....@ bottle / @ cph : according to A**, they have checked all sensors , its from ecu there is no output . The check light engine is also not switching on ( checked the light..fuse is fine). But the funny thing is the car starts most of the time..except for certain days..where it cranks well, but dosent start...wait for 30 min..it starts with no problem.

@ cph latest update: fiat has asked the A.S.S to mail them the exact nature of ecu error..guess fiat is coming from the angle that you are coming from
