Looked interesting but don't know about other people how they are pressing accelerator pedal instead of brake, I am confident that I can forget my name but not the brake pedal. Almost everyone driving manual cars are versed to the current config. (clutch) (brake) (accelerator).

This new system may be good and better than current system but only for new coming generation who will learn driving on this thing.

We all do mishap when we get sudden change like wiper and indicator switch in different models, bullet gears at right and brake on left and so on.

Yes I agree with Hashim, it would be easy for new learners who are starting from scratch while complicated for existing ones to adopt it.

Pressing sideways for accelerator seems to be weird. I'm not so sure it is ergonomic. But the concept of brake cutting off accelerator is good.

After a trip of 20km on Indian roads, your right ankle will be toast.

Pressing the pedal/lever sideways is not ergonomic. Human ankle/feet is not evolved to have prominent sideways moment where it can exert force with fine control. How can a person rest his/her foot on a pedal and not press it (which then applies brake) throughout the drive.

I guess it's better to learn the existing arrangement and learn not to panic.

this will only work with cruise control. imagine keeping your foot twisted sideways in a long drive, god, I'd end up with a sprain!!

and even if we had cruise control we'd have to take our foot completely off the pedals as resting the foot causes braking and thus deactivating the cruise control...
so cruise control or no cruise control it wont work..
IMO this is not practical.

Why don't we have accelerator control on hands?
Like bike throttle or lever like airplane?

This could be built onto the steering wheel also.

Or the other way round - brake on hands?

Good one there, but then what happens to the dead-pedal? I mean, I wonder how this will work when I go on a long drive and have keep the gas pressed by that precise amount. The current design itself gives me the cramps, and this new thing will surely make it worse. I find the suggestion for bike type accelerator more appealing, but wonder how to give the precise amount of gas while doing a turn on the steering wheel.
