Why do you think it's from engine? Didn't you ask the FNG to show the leak traces?
Also the oil falling is a bit cleaner (Gear oil) or dark (Engine Oil) in colour?

Went to main MASS (Abharan Motors, Udupi) today to check if there was a coolant leak in my Alto, as I found the coolant empty in the morning. The mechanic showed me the underbody to say that there is no coolant leak anywhere. What I saw was shocking. No coolant leak, but this part was drenched in oil.

On enquiry, the SA said that they would have to open up the engine - could be oil leaking from the tappet. (? ? ?)

New problems have been arising since I took my car for servicing in August at a MASS after many years. Now I'm not sure if I should let them fix it or take it to a smaller service centre.

Seems like a case of Engine gulping the coolant.

First get the engine oil completely drained to see Coolant traces. If the coolant hasn't leaked, its got consumed .

You need to start checking the entire cooling system - Water Pump, Radiator hoses, Head Gaskets to ascertain what has failed that resulted in coolant heading where its not supposed to.

I would prefer you to stay with the car when this is being done.

Default Oil Leakage , Alto K10

Hi Team,
My car had to go through a pothole during recent drive within the city, there was a thud sound. Now I have noticed an oil Leakage near the exhaust area. I am worried if any major damage to my car. It's a sparingly used DEC 2015 K10 , only 4K on the odo. Please guide me, pic attached.

One will not be able to make out much with the underbody leak pic. Could you narrow your picture down to the source of leak? It might either be engine / gearbox oil leak.

Are you sure Oil is leaking under the exhaust area and not under the Engine area?

Oil leak near the exhaust area could be due to ruptured fuel tank. Check whether the leaked contents are smelling of Petrol or Lubricant Oil.

If you don't mind can you bend down and get an image from the actual area of leakage? The one you posted is a bit difficult to point out to.

Leakage could be from the sump drain bolt too.

Oil leak near the exhaust? Could it be petrol (leaking tank/ fuel lines) or could it be water (accumulated water in the silencer muffler/ catalyst)? From the given picture, it looks too thin for engine oil. (Or looking like that in the picture??) Any oil leaks would be under the hood area.

Please provide a few under body pictures to pin point the source of leakage.

Regards.

The stain looks like an oil stain, not fuel stain, to me.

Check your oil pan, drain bolt and the oil filter cartridge for any damage.

If the engine area turns out OK, proceed to check your brake system hydraulic lines & hoses for any small leaks.

Either way, these are critical systems. Please get them checked thoroughly before using the car.

It is best if the car were placed on a 4 point hoist the kind used at ASCs which will allow a full inspection of the underbody.

As others have pointed out this has to be either engine oil or gearbox oil if it is leaving stains on the floor and not evaporating. In case it is vaporising then its either coolant or fuel. A petrol leak is the easiest to identify due to the smell. Please get back to us with an image of the source of leakage. It isn't that hard to get under an alto.
