Default Toyota Innova Rear Gate Lift Support

So one of the Rear Gate Lift Supports (aka Dicky Stopper/Rear Gate Lift Strut) which hold up the big rear door of my Innova when opened has gone bad.

Not willing to be decapitated in a hurry, i called up the dealership who quoted me 4800 + for one. (Not kidding). This is the small mini shock absorber looking thing attached to the two sides of the rear door.

Does anyone know of a source in Mumbai who stocks these? City motors does not have them.

Genesis, look for the same through salvage dealers rather than going for aftermarket

how old is your vehicle, is it past warranty?

in my case, everytime that I have gone out even for the smallest of the work I have faced problems later, so I am really paranoid about getting any work outside

to the extent, that even the tyres were bought and installed at the dealer

my exxperience is that though a little expensive than the market, it is best to avoud sub standard stuff, however insignificant the part may be

Got them and installed them. 1380 for the pair. Works like a charm.

Shetty also has the original toyota ones for 4500 odd each. (Hence 9000 for the pair)

For future reference: In 'local' parlance these are referred to as 'dicky stopper's

Hi,

This has happened to my brother-in-law's Innova too - does anyone know a source in Bangalore for this? Any number/area would be useful, thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Deepak

Fairly common part actually. Most major motor stores in your city should have the generic part in stock.
