Default Damage due to Hydrostatic lock

I would like to know what could be the damage to a Multicylinder (4 Cylinder Diesel Engine to be precise) leading to Hydrostatic Lock.
  • if water enters into the engine while it was operational.
  • if the engine is cranked after the water ingression while it was not running.

There's already a thread running on this - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...ater-lock.html. Hope you get some good points in the other thread.

In addition, you may want to see this post too.
