I am starting this thread to share some tidbits of Jazz, which some of you know, and others can contribute. Any good changes done to improve the car etc. too could be mentioned here, to educate all Jazz owners.

To start with

Did you know, that Jazz has Iridium spark plugs. Though they cost a ton, they are supposed to last longer and offer better mileage and performance.

Hopefully this is the right forum to discuss this.

Eh! that's news. I will check today.

Did you know, you can operate the power window even after switching off the ignition key for 45 seconds. It is useful for saving fuel while switching off the lights and removing safety belt and stuff.

I wish they had also provided auto-off headlights. :P

Good idea, should be an useful thread.

Devarshi, are you sure ? You mean,
- 45 secs after engine-off (but instrument cluster lights on), or
- 45 secs after key out of the keyhole

Few things that I think all Jazz owners would need help on:

1. Is there any way to have auto-locking doors in Jazz. eg, when the car starts moving (or at 5kmph) all doors lock automatically.
2. Boot lamp - can this be fixed without fouling with the warranty ? I am sure the socket exists since Jazz abroad has it.
3. Map lights - same as above
4. USB

cheers

If there is anything that i W'really miss in Jazz is Auto Central Locking. At such a premium price this should have been there. I took this feature for granted and was very disappointed later.

Honda must incorporate this feature in Jazz.

as long as the key is in the hole even though not in ignition position.

You cannot have auto central locking by default since the jazz has a simple system where a remote is used to only lock and unlock doors.

Boot lamp can be fixed at the dealership itself since the Jazz x has it. costs might be high though.

Same goes for USB too but you will have to wait for sometime.

I dont know about maplights.

@snorting bull: In another thread you mentioned that you met with a major accident with Jazz. What happened? Did ABS and Airbags help? hope you and your family are doing good.

Is it so with the ANHC as well ? I own an ANHC and would know about it.

Secondly, what makes these plugs last longer?

I was a bit concerned about the petrol theft from Jazz. Earlier I had Santro and it was very simple thing for the drivers to do. The Honda service person told me that it is not possible from Jazz. He showed me the only one place from where it can be stolen. He painted a white line over the plastic lock - in case anyone tries to open/break it - it will be known.

I suggest the fellow Jazz owners to talk to the service person & get the white paint line done over the plastic lock, near the engine, when you take your vehicle for service.

Jazz comes with rear a/c vents. So in summers, instead of blasting chilled air on the faces of front passengers, the rear vents will help in uniform cooling.

Also The steering buttons help in extra functions such as album change when playing mp3's if pressed for more than a second.

Ya. We are perfectly safe, not even a scratch. I am not sure if ABS kicked off, since it was not a moment to concentrate, but Airbags didnt kick off. I collided on the sides and was not a straight collision. Airbags come out on direct hits.

Not sure if ANHC has. Probably the new ivtec city has. You may want to checkout this
There are other sources too which provide good information about this.

Have you guys seen a small slit in the lower glove box of Jazz ? I am curious to know what it is about. Anyone has any idea about it ?

That slit is for holding something like toll tickets - neatly & safely tucked in.

Has any one noticed a pen holder in the upper glove box? The pen can be fixed in the slot and it remains suspended avoiding creating any unwanted noise.

It's wise to own a straight 'H'.

The slit in the glovebox is a carry forward from the international models where the slit is used to hold cards such as Expressway passes, credit cards, fuel cards, driving license and such.

The Iridium spark plugs last longer because Iridium has better longetivity than copper used on normal plugs. But while copper conducts better, Irididum heads give bigger spark hence burning fuel properly.

I want to know, which fuel do u use in ur Jazz? I have been advised by the dealer to use Normal petrol only. How about you?

Normal fuel should do

Good thread.

I have a question re. Jazz Suspension, I have noticed it is a bit hard in the rear seat. While driving slowly over potholes/bumps does reduce the impact, it is still a bit uncomfortable for people in the rear seat. Any thoughts on how to fix this? My cousin who owned a 2008 Honda Fit in the US, complained about a bumpy ride & returned it. So I was wondering if this issue was fixed? If not, is there something we can do to fix it?
