Was just thinking about the classes run at speed. All the turbo cars be it a zen or vtec or esteem will run under one class. Since there is no classification of cars above 1600cc. So these cars all with multi factors will run in the above 1600cc class. Unless the street/prostreet thing is in place.

It would be interesting to see the vtec run with turbo zens.....

the turbo zens(2 of them) were there from speed 05. But there's no class other than ind open which they could enter. one is defn a e-zen turbo. The other i don't know.

If they don't have str/prostr atleast they should allow all turbo cars irrespective of which engine in which car (as along its indian) to run the turbo class. They we have 2 classes to this one and ind open.

They did not run at speed 05.Because they were slower than the super e-zens (red/grey).They are all from the same team.

at that point of time, the turbo e-zens were slower than ashutosh's zen.

well guys seriously think 250bhp and 11 seconds??? is it possible....use the drag calculator for yourself and find out...250bhp of engine power is 210 bhp at wheels..with a best reaction time of say .4 sec and a perfect run you are looking at late 12 secs...and as fro the turbo e-zens they were not done by raj who does ashutosh's and sharat's....one turbo zen was fahad's...of team FS

Considering the Yamaha R1 manages 180bhp and less than 180 kgs to a q-mile time of approx 10 sec, and the T-tec manages "250" bhp and claims 11 secs, I'd like to see it happen.
Quote:
Coming back to the vtec. 11sec with 250hp on a unmodifed bodyshell is impossible. U need atleast 1:2 pwr to weight to get to 11s.
Yup, a Vtec would need close to 600bhp/ton to come anywhere close to 11 secs. The Mclaren F1, with a power to weight of 560bhp/ton, manages just 11.1 and it's a RWD.

With 250bhp, i'm looking at anywhere between 13 and 13.8 secs.

Another thing i'd like to mention is that bikes, need a very high power to weight ratio to compete against cars, in a 1/4mile. A car with a PTWR of 1:1 would have covered the 1/4 mile in 7-8 secs.

The Veyron has a PTWR of just 530bhp/ton and still, it'll be in the 9 to 10 sec category.

So, unless we see around 600bhp on a Vtec, 11 sec quartermiles cannot be expected.

Does anyone have any real, proven figures on a dyno or test track, or is this all hypothesis and conjecture?

I'll believe a Vtec can do a 11 sec quartermile when it's actually done by somebody. Wishful thinking isn't going to push the car across the finish line.

nah...raj had not done a turbo zen for the banglore 2005 speed run...there was a turbo zen being worked upon..but that was a twincam 1600cc..could not get the fuel programs right so was converted to a NA twincam 1600 zen which ran in bombay 2005 speedrun...not done by raj..done by another friend of mine..
