Hello funkykar, I am sure you will make complete use of the Donor car, wonderful of you to pout ur heart and money into two 118's.

My two cents, please have the Registeration cancelled for the donor car, you would not want the plates/numbers to be traced back to you in some police crime investigation.

Cheers!

I second this thought. Get this done ASAP.

PS: Please upload more quality pics! Would love to see the detailed coverage of your project.

Thank you guys, I will consider cancellation of registration. Anyways, its not too much effort to do that.

Donor car already had provided a lot of parts. Just couple of items pending after which the new car would get a fresh coat of paint and all the necessary anti rust treatment. Paint and stuff would be done only after say 2-3 months.

I would more likely go for an over coat some time in next 1-3 months. Here are loads of pictures that most of you, including me were waiting for

That 118NE looks like a gem and I know it feels like one for you too. Wish you a long association with your dream machine. Great to see that you had the guts and passion to put your money and efforts in this car.

Finally ...

The NE looks Awesome

Congratulations on getting hold of a very nice car.

I dont think that car needs an overcoat for a long time to come. I will tell you what to do once i meet up with you.

BTW Where are the Hub caps...?

Well maintained car. Looks neat.

The pics that you have shot seems to be on the Railway parallel road- Kumara park west.

Just its gearshift quality was justification to buy it during its production! I hope thats not worn down too much in your car.

Karthik : The car looks to be in a very good shape. Especially the body seems to have very less corrosion, which is a bonus for any NE owner! With your old EarthQuake now being a donor car, this new EarthQuake will now rock and rule the roads! Keep posting the updates with pictures whenever you get time. Congrats and All The Best!!

Regards and Keep Revving,

Rahul Waghmare.

Thanks everyone!!

@Pavan: Wheel caps are archived. I plan to put the Palio's steel rims shortly. Also, I kind of agree and disagree with over coat. Pics some times could be deceptive. Once you see the car in person, I will explain why I think what I think now.

@themag: Gearbox was in a little bad shape. It was swapped from the donor car and is butter smooth now.

@ Rahul: I would update every bit here.

@rki2007: You are spot on.

@arvi86: When you listen to your heart and passion, money doesn't matter. Moreover, it was also a practical decision for me. What I always felt about the NE is, if you want to buy one, close you eyes and buy it if papers are fine and body is pristine. Any other issues can be resolved later. You will find 100's of NE's, 10's of them would be very good, but the best ones are the ones with best bodies.

Dear Karthik - congratulations and well done. Please align the front bumper properly, it will completely change the stance of the car. Also see if you can source the original FIAT 124 round headlights with surrounds and FIAT 124 original metallic bumpers with guards. Then your car will become absolutely unique.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

^ Thanks Sirji. Part of it, you stole the words from my mouth! I had the Fiat 124 headlights already in mind . Lets see how it goes. I would definitely add on the 124 bumpers if I find very good ones. Fiat 124 parts are like trying to find water in middle of a desert. Do we get any after market double head lamps? Does the Conti headlamps fit in with some small mods?

Here are some more pictures:
