BHPians,

I have been to the Honda dealership today for the head lamp up gradation.

They claimed that the face lifted ANHC is not being launched any time in near future-not before 2013.That too along with the diesel engine. No plans to launch the 1.5 liter Jazz either.

I saw a nice leather seat cover similar to bluevolt's(9000/-) on a car being delivered.

Not a single CR V was sold in June at that dealership. Hottest selling colour of ANHC is urban titanium.

Looks like the present head turner is going to enchant the mobs for some time more.

Cheers.

Best rgds,charthom

So how did the upgrade go? What did you upgrade to and how is the head lamp now? Are you still covered in warranty?

@sudeepg, I upgraded the lamps to 100/130 Philips bulbs. No HID. It cost me 1700/- at Honda. The warranty is still intact. I found the night vision had improved dramatically for me. I am keeping position 2 for the beam.

@RemingtonSteele,shamanth- If 100/130 is too bright and may cause accidents, the how good is a full HID kit?

@uday.ere,Raghu,- have you encountered any problems due to brightness?

Kindly help-I don't want to look selfish by dominating the night, which is not my intention at all.

Sorry mate, please don't think I am being critical here.

Firstly, I don't agree with the funda that non-stock upgrades performed at Honda dealership assures you continual of electrical/or any warranty.
What I feel is the (specific) dealer with continue to honour the warranty because you performed the upgrade at his shop and he gained some money out of it in other words he will honour your relationship/rapport etc.

The same is applicable for HID's and projectors as well.
The point here is improve your own visibility with these lamps at the same time not blind others. So keep driving with position1 (highway) or position2 (city); just drive safe
See fundamentally accidents can be caused due to 3 reasons:
1) You make a mistake and cause an accident.
2) You drive wrongly and induce an accident.
3) The other person makes a mistake or circumstantial reasons beyond your control.

I suggest now that you have already well spent 1700 bucks, so don't worry too much about it. As I said keep this in mind and drive safe.

^nice upgrade.
I think I too need it, as yesterday I was driving at night at around 2.30 am and did find city driving to be a task. The haphazard placement of boulders for median, gravel and blind cuts on the road made life uneasy for the car.

Do post some images of the light falling on open road without streetlight. Thanks!

Thanks for the brotherly advise RS.Love you for that.

Basically the ideas expressed by us all regarding the warranty were the same.Only put differently. Of course,I needed better lights. I did it within the limits of legal permission(hopefully) Now I will be responsible like any other BHPian to drive safe in order not to induce an accident.

Thanks Sn1p3r, will post the images soon.

Friends,BTW,jkoo7 had inquired if Caska can play video files through USB.
I found out the HU plays them.

Please evaluate the snaps of video-clips of Bond being played. Video file was not good-hence the poor picture quality. But the audio was crisp-even though the bass was a bit vague.

@shamanth-This is true-but RS was being ideological.Giving others fair chance.A world without crazy, drunk people-only people who are the victims of circumstances. This is a very positive philosophy in life of course.

Let us assume the responsibility from our side and try to avoid accidents.

Cheers!! charthom.

Wow, Cant wait to lay my hands on the Caska , I will do this as soon as budget permits ! Hey Charthom, one more question - does daylight in any way affect the visibility of the video ? Can you please take a few pics with a good quality video being played. Too curious to know the clarity of video.

Hi FireBug,

Fortunately, no.The screen has remained glare-free so far.It was my biggest worries-I had seen a Caska in an Innova.too much glare had spoiled the sport! Pl give me some time-I will revert tomorrow with the snaps you asked for.

Hey,when did you visit the Honda show room?.I went there yesterday-at about 1100 hrs.Wish I had met you there!!

Pardon me if am wrong, but is it not risky to have video option for a head unit next to the driver. It might be a distraction right?

@prabhuferrari,welcome to my thread.

Absolutely. It is totally risky for the driver to watch videos while driving-much more disastrous than talking on mobile phone. I don't endorse videos on dash at all-but the unit came with it,so I have it. I don't watch it-I hereby request others also not to watch-and get distracted.

Rgds,charthom.

Thanks a ton charthom, the video looks very clear !!. I am also not planning to get myself killed watching video while driving but my 3 year old daughter loves barbie movies and I want her to be preoccupied rather than her indulge in her current hobby of hopping between front seat and back seat as if its a ferry. My handrest cum storage area became loose because of this and had to vist the dealer to fix it.

Did you get any discount on Caska from Honda ?

Dealers don't want anyone to postpone their purchase and it is natural that they don't admit the facelift being around the corner. By 2013, you can expect a 'all new' ANHC and not just the facelift
