Those 8 customers will probably curse their luck if the don't do a through PDI.
The chaps were from dealer. There was a driver who was waiting to see the showroom manager. I believe this driver brings vehicle from Yard to showroom or vice versa. While doing this, he got the car scratched somewhere and he was asked to see the manager. The driver was waiting to meet the manager and was telling the dealership chaps that the scratch is not even noticeable and they are blowing it out of proportion. To this, those chaps were telling him that normally they let the drivers go for scratches very small. But the manager is very unhappy as 8 vehicles out of 10 they received this week had small dents or scratches. So his tolerance level has gone down and is warning all the drivers serving the dealer.

I think, if the dent or scratch is noticeable, the dealer will fix it before they sell it. Who knows, my car could be one of those 8 and the dealer has already fixed it. When I did the PDI, there were no issue and hence I am not bothered too much about it.

Dear Charthom, Thanks to you and Mdsaab for the inputs. I have gone ahead and confirmed the registration of the car. It will be registered tomorrow 30th of July.

The dealer asked me if I want a special regn. number. 5k for special sequence sum total, 10k for special number from daily series, 25k for number from other series and 75K for super special number. Decided none of them worth the trouble, I cannot change destiny, fate and my luck! LOL

For yesterday's PDI, as per ideas, took a colleague, a trusted driver/ spray painter along for the verifications. All nooks and crannies were peered into, all electrical and electronic fittings powered up, while the engine revved and gear synchronization and brakes checked.

After the PDI, yesterday, went to Padmini Nano, a dealer who specialises in HuperOptik, a ceramic(non metal) based sun-films. Amazing stuff, offering upto 90% heat rejection at 70% VLT levels. I would say the best film for windscreen, if anyone's planning.

Will be starting my new thread soon, look forward to all of you visiting and commenting there. :-)

@Jammy28
Did you get snaps of the car when you went to the yard? It's highly recommended since you will have proof that there was nothing wrong with the car during your inspection. The good thing thesedays is that we have cell phones that can get very good pictures. I always always take full snaps of the car before it goes in for service. One advantage is that if something goes wrong, you have proof that the damage occurred after you handed it off for service. I once had this issue where I had a huge argument with Hyundai about my Santro alloys. I showed the service manager the snaps and he promptly agreed to fix it. Service cost was ~2400. Rebuffing, painting and fixing the alloys cost them 4000 :P Since then, only certain service managers are assigned to me.

Yep - that's what I meant - cheaper alternatives that give the OEM look and work with the steering controls. Not too many options out there - Caska and one other one whose name I don't remember now. I think I'd read about that in another thread on T-BHP.

+1 to that. Yes,we can't change the destiny! But it is imperative that you avoid Rahu for the delivery!!

As I suggested-check out Mega audio-it might work with original controls. Toyota had quoted a name to me-cheaper,but no audio controls.

Neilroy - Would you please give me details of where Padmini Nano is? I'd like to try this out and also suggest this to my neighbor who is also getting a ANHC. Also, did you enquire about the cost of these films?

I look forward to your ownership report.

@Sn1p3r,

I think the present requirement is the wind shield anti glare film should be absolutely transparent-should not block visibility from outside at all.

Is there any up-coming ban by Supreme court ,to your knowledge.

I have installed charcoal shaded sun films on my car which offers 35% visibility. Allowed limit in my City is 50% but I installed the 35% one due to privacy reasons. My windshield is totally clear and I use aftermarket sunshade when the car is parked to protect the dashboard from sunlight.

One should stick to 50% limit (can go for 35% only if required but not below that).

(This is for Delhi/NCR region).

Good on you mate!
Number thing is true. But for the Civic and City we got the same number for both. Looks rather cool when they are parked together. Damage was 5k official govt charge and 3k broker fee.
Glad the PDI went well. And look forward to your upcoming thread. Good luck!

SudeepG great advice there. Thats exactly what i do. In case anything untoward happens. You have photographic evidence of the condition on your inspection.

Thanks Charthom! I checked their site out and it seems like they do build systems specific to different cars. They do have one for a City as well and has most of the features of a Caska. It is probably worth checking out when I'm back home. I don't see any reviews for a Mega Audio on a Honda City though - so it is going to be a tough call.

Hello, all the sunfilms which I checked at Padmini Nano are RTO approved.However, they have darker shades also, your choice. The best thing about Huper Optik is high heat rejection with higher VLT. Please go through the HuperOptik website.

Check this site Padmininano Products

Costing is car wise and film quality wise. Only windscreen 'KLAR70' grade will be about 7-8K for ANHC.Tell, you are a Bhpian, you get best discounts. (5% is standard) They do home appointments also for installations. A 5 amp connection is needed, as these films are heat stuck.

Somehow i would recommend sticking to Caska. It's a product which has been used by quite a few on Team-BHP. and is known to work well. what is the price difference btw?
Caska had launched a new range recently. so it is highly possible the older models will be going with a discount. I remember Noopster being offered a good deal on a Caska unit.
You have spent 10L odd on the car, if you decide to go for a HU upgrade, then go for the best, you don't want to regret that later.
Having said that though, we also cannot just write of mega audio because we have not tried it out. So maybe a demo is in order. and that would give us a clearer picture and sound too. LOL!
But if it was me right now, I would plonk on the Caska. between the two.

@alarm68,

I happened to read a.aravind's mention of Caska on his Cruze thread- had not read any other review,when I decided on it,initially for my Etios.Well it turned out to be good.

There is nothing wrong in you being the forerunner and try out Mega audio on T-BHP!!

@mdsaab

May be Mega audio too is good! I fully agree Caska is a tested product-hence we can recommend confidently. Me too,would have preferred Caska-but other brands are worth a look at least-just in case.

Regarding sun film-already invested a fortune in in V-Kool. I can only envy now.

Thanks, mate. I in a bit of a spot though. My car already has sun control films and I am not sure if removing them will damage the glass. Removing from rear windscreen seems definitely not an option based on what I have read through team-bhp forums. Anyone knows for sure?

@charthom

I am going to try the formula one wheel cleaners today or tomorrow and post the pictures
