3) The base model with MapMyIndia navigator is 47K. I got Reverse camera with sensor installed with an additional 8K. Total came to 55K including taxes. I have not faced any issues with the integration and touch screen effects so far and I am pretty comfortable using it. Will surely keep you updated incase I bump (I hope not ) into such issues

Hope this helps. Will write more about it soon.[/quote]

Hey,well it turns out when an ipod is connected it has a different interface where you cannot FF or RW songs.Anyway, would it be possible to find out where he sourced the mmi maps for the caska? Are they the latest ones ie 6.1 ? I got mine with satguide :( it was the only option i had and it is rubbish. The guy who installed mine says he will take a while to get map my india maps for a caska unit, Thanks.

That is quite strange, I haven't seen this problem ever with this car.Im not sure wether they can repair it or if it will have to be changed (My honda dealer says they cannot repair ONE clip on the front bumper of my anhc so if i want to fix it,it'l have to be completely changed for 30k !)So they are a little strange that way, however i do remember reading someone else's post in the forum about how a damaged tail light of the ANHC was completely changed for less than 3K so its not a huge expense.SHOULD still be covered.

If there are no scratches or damage to the tail light.
Then i am pretty sure it will be rectified under warranty.
Either by trying to fix the issue.
But with the way most Honda dealers work.
They would replace the whole tail light assembly under warranty.
Do keep us posted on their decision.

I got the whole unit purchased and installed from my Honda dealer. The accessory counter stocked only MMI navigator and he said they integrate only MMI with Caska HUs. Yep the version is indeed 6.1 and it can be upgdared from the MMI website by downloading latest maps into the MMI SD card periodically.

What maps did you get with the HU?
Look forward to a review from you.
Enjoy your Caska, it's an awesome thing to have in the car.

Friends: Here is the review and evaluation of my CASKA HU that I got it installed for my ANHC.

The Deal: I called up my Honda Dealer to check if they stock the CASKA HU and YES came the reply with detailed quote:
Model: IN3631G
Cost of Base Model - 47K (includes MapMyIndia navigation)
Additional - 7K for reverse camera with sensors
Total Cost - 55K (Inclusive of taxes)

The accessory Manager said he would call me back and allocate a time slot for the installation which he did call at 1:30PM. He said he had allocated me 3PM slot. So, I had a quick lunch and headed towards the showroom at 2:35PM which is a 15mins drive from work.

I was surprised to see him waiting to receive me at the gate (why not - after all the deal is worth 50K+ ). He took me straight to the accessory counter and took out a box of brand new sealed CASKA HU. I spent around 5-6 mins browsing the brochure looking into the features of this model and then gave the knod to proceed for installation.

Installation

I enquired with him on the total time it would take for the installation and to my surprise, he said that all it would take was 2HRS max.

I tried my luck by requesting him if he can permit me to watch the installation to which obliged. He then took me to the workshop where I literally watched everything happen right under my eye.

As promised, they took exactly 2HRS to complete the installation and the guys did a good tidy job.

Then, they showed me complete demo of maximum functionalitiies to my satisfaction before heading for billing.

Overall, I had a great experience and the best part was sitting thru the installation process

Headsup: There is some good news for future ANHC buyers 2 yrs down the line. They said that the CASKA manufacturers will be getting into exclusive tieup with Honda so that the next release of ANHC and other variants of Honda will have in-built CASKA HU.

Evaluation: I will not stress too much on the evaluation and pics as our friend Charthom has already posted an exhaustive writeup in page#8 of the same model. However, I would like to make a bold statement here that I truly enjoyed each and every moment of my CASKA experience and am currently doing research on all the features that it has to offer. Will keep you guys posted incase I come up with anyting new that has gone unnoticed by any of you during your research.

Comments and feedback welcome.

Thanks for the crisp review.
2hrs seems like a decent enough time for instalation.
And glad that they let you watch the while install.
And why not.
I did the same with the ducktail instalation.
Did you click any pics if the work in progress?
i did have this feeling that somewhere not too far in the distant future ANHC's will come with a touchscreen. And hence included it in my list of possible upgrades in the facelifted ANHC.
Well maybe not so soon, but i do feel it will be here sooner than later. Who knows Honda may pull a fast one and surprise us.
Enjoy your Caska. Look forward to further updates.
Drive safe!

Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately I was not allowed to shoot anything inside the workshop though I tried to grab a pic from my mobile without any luck

Plans: Wanted to test the navigation on my CASKA so decided to do Bangalore -> Mysore -> KRS Dam and back tomorrow early morning with family. Shall keep everyone posted once back.

Oh now that is something i am looking forward to hearing. A good review on the navigation capabilities of the Caska loaded with MMI.
Also a small request, please post a pic of where the GPS antenna was installed.

@kirantp

The system looks awesome! I recently enquired about the Caska for a friend and the honda dealer quoted 65+ charges, which we thought was too high. Which Honda dealer did you get this done from?

Also, thanks for your feedback about the product, installaiton process. I look forward to your review on the map and also how easy and fun it is to use the product.

Thanks a lot mdsaab We haven't damaged the tail lamp at all. So I would talk to the Service centre and let you know how the whole issue went on. Thanks a lot once again

One minor irritant i have with the Caska units is how the text on the volume knob also moves along with the position of the knob.
So sometimes you will see the text sideways, sometimes upside down etc.
Why have they not fixed this bugging issue?
or is it only me with my OCD type tendencies who it bugs.

Your welcome mate, since there is no damage done by you. It is absolutely clear that it is a manufacturing defect. and they will have to take corrective measures from their side.
Also is this your ANHC's first ever monsoon? this will make the case in your favor even stronger.
Good Luck!

Unfortunately no :( But my father now recalls that he had seen a dead mosquito inside the reflector area, but din't take it seriously! So maybe there was a gap or a hole when the car was delivered itself! Sad that it took almost two years for me to react on the issue

No problem mate, you are never too late. Hope you have a picture of the mosquito inside the assembly. if so do make sure you take it along to show them.
Explain to the sales rep that you travel a lot a hence did not have the time to come in and rectify the problem.
and during service, maybe your father or you brought it in, and forgot the issue being so busy with your hectic schedule.

But yes if you had pointed it out to them much earlier it would have been better and easier to deal with.

I have a question for CASKA owners. Do the touchscreens catch a lot of fingerprint? How often does one need to clean it?

Do not own a caska but here is my take on touchscreens. With experience ranging from the Galaxy S to the ipad2.
all touchscreens are capable of catching fingerprints.
And they are mostly visible when the screen is off or showing dark colours like grey and black.
Once the screen is on you can hardly see them if you can at all.
