Hey Dieselat!

Glad to meet another Beat D owner. well, I really don't recall the breakup in the bill. And from my 2nd service, I have been getting things done at Coimabtore/Salem than in Bangalore. May be labor costs per are higher in Bangalore compared to TIER 2 cities .

Could you post some pictures of your car?

Cheers,
Jai
Just got the car back from service. They had just replaced the brake pads. In addition to what I had mentioned before. Cost me nearly 4k!
I didn't do the WAB as I get it done outside and IMO, some reputed tyre shops are a lot better than the showrooms. Will upload some pictures soon . My car nearly fully stock anyway.

And about the service costs. I was thinking the same. It's probably more expensive in BLR.

In that case how are the 175s holding up? Any handling difference compared to the Petrol Beat's 155s?

I have 175s(on 4.5Js) on my Spark, there is a very minor delay in steering response as compared to stock 155s. May be GM tuned Beat D's steering for 175s?

Also, I got the steel rims replaced to Chevy Beat OEM alloys @ 3900 each.
I dont find a world of difference, but steering is a tad smoother than before.

You sure are beating the hell out of that Beat, 45k kms already? Has the TN govt offered you a permanent Salem-Coimbatore route yet?

As usual fantastic pics, how are the Michelins compared to the OE ones?

175s are holding up well. Handling has improved and is now more confidence inspiring compared to stock 155s. Of course, part of it is psychological

I haven't noticed any delay in steering response.

I haven't found a world of difference with new Tires. Steering is more smoother than it was before. Otherwise, it's the pretty much the same.

Great to hear that the steering is smoother cause i thought with bigger tyres it would be more load and would wear-out the whole steering mechanism sooner... i noticed that when my friend changed his Figo tyres to Michelin even his steering control became lighter compared to stock tyres... maybe it has something to do with the soft compound tyres of michelin.

What is the change in FE once you changed from stock to 175s?? Beat's suspension is relatively soft so does a bigger tyre help it to be more robust?

Beat has completed 2 years this week and has done 56,500

It's due for 60,000 KM oil change in another 4k.

No rattles or squeaks have developed so far. Mileage is consistent at ~18 kmpl average. Renewed my Insurance with Bajaj Allianz for 8.5k

Hello All beat owners.

Just wanted to understand something. have a 42K completed beat diesel lt.
Saw some oil leakage from the top of oil sump, sump was not damaged, took the car to chevy ASS @ Kalewadi Pune.

They informed me that due to issue with bolts which were fixed by wrong adhesive at a previous service in Nashik, it took time to remove the sump, and hypencoil ( is this the correct word ? ) is required for all 4 nuts. So, the total damage to me was Rs.3500 ( 2000 for hypencoil, 600 labour, oil worth 600 and taxes )

Is this cost justified ? Also, any Pune beat owners can suggest the best service center for Chevy?

Thanks

Beat completed 74500 kms today. Come September, Beat would complete 3 years. It was sent for 75,000 KM service today. No complaints except for some noise in the boot door.

So far it has been a very eventful journey!

Congrats on the 85k mark. But has your driving reduced these days? Thought you would be closer to 1L by now

I use the Optra these days and hence the running is low compared to the former years.

Beat crawled towards 90k and it's been 3.5 years.

90,000 KM service was INR 4,600. Car is doing good as usual.

Cheers,
Jai
