You can get all the parts elsewhere but the tune has to be by BMW. Doesn't the BSI stand despite the mods?

One suggestion - you may try it. Send a mail to BMW customer care / management notifying this. Tell them you had plans of getting this kit & are ready to pay the cheque in no time if the price were 1.4L.

Also let them know that it was NOT professional of the dealers NOT to give the time line of introductory price or at least a heads up just before increasing the price.

Brands like BMW are quite receptive to feed-backs and are very keen to improve their CE if I am not wrong. What if they decide to give you the kit for 1.4L as a goodwill gesture?? You would not lose anything but the time for a 10 line mail. If it works, am sure you will be a very content BMW owner for years to come too.

Or try & catch up with some of your friends or 3 series owners who want to upgrade this and form a bulk-buying group [may be 3-4 guys] and contact them [Not sure how feasible is this option though]. That should be an offer which they cannot resist!

As far as i remember, you mentioned the fact that this is your dad's car. If your dad allows you to do all this to the car, then you surely are lucky mate. I still remember i had to literally beg my dad to upgrade speakers in his car because OEM's as usual were pure crap.

The car looks nice after detailing, deserves better pictures though. Any progress on Bmw power kit?

Its his weekend car, mine to use everyday. I get to chose between this and the Accord. Hes finally replacing the Innova with an RS in the next 2 weeks. After deciding between the Tsi, Yeti, DSG and RS we have finally chosen the RS.

Oh hes given up on me, doesn't bother even trying to stop me doing all this.

Heres a video on a recent drive to Nasik, the road is one way. Expect a short write up soon. In the mean time the front right tyre has got 2 little surface cuts, will get it checked out soon.

There was a Tbhp meet in Mumbai this past Sunday, and while most members drove about 150kms and turned back towards Mumbai for lunch, a few of us decided to carry on for another 60 odd kms till Nashik, and eat lunch at the Sula Vineyard. The highway, as soon as we got out of Mumbai limits was brilliant to say the least. Till about 10 kms from Nashik it was a silky smooth 2 lane each way tarmac road, after which there was road work etc going on.

Loads of cars were present and it was an enjoyable drive till the breakfast point. All kinds of cars from Puntos to MLs were there. But only the same group of friends that drove to Aamby Valley carried on till Nasik, except this time we were joined by another E280cdi and a 530d.

Special mention to the ML, which is now Brabus Tuned (no jokes) and the driver can give Vettel a run for his money. He reached the breakfast point before everyone inspite of leaving last from Mumbai because cops didn't let him leave his house due to the marathon.

We managed to keep decent speeds on the drive upwards of a 100 and the 3's ride really becomes so much better above 80kmph. Bumps which would give a big jolt to the car now couldn't be felt. The stability is great and you just cannot feel the speed. On the ghaats it outhandled the 530Ds but on the straights it was not as quick though it managed to keep up respectably well.

Needless to say I need to get the BMW Power kit soon, I don't like having a slower car than others.

In Nashik member Dante joined us with his Cayman S and the amount of stares the full convoy got in Nashik was as though the Indian cricket team was parading though the city.

Here are a few pics - (Credit goes to Adishenoy and Cartman for the pics)

Well its a 3l engine, a normal Ml320cdi with a Brabus Tuning Box. No other mods. The power now is somewhere around 290bhp and the torque near to 690nm is what I was told. And that thing is fast now.

The drive seemed like a lot of fun. Looks like Dante was there too! Good to see his yellow Cayman adding some spice in the white-silver-grey mix.

Why on earth is that guy driving a ML, if he can drive like that? I've heard a lot about him on this forum, and if he can drive the wheels of a car, the car should be something that sits closer to the ground than the ML, don't you think?

The 320d looks gorgeous, Akshay. The detailing is brilliant. I adore those bulges and cuts on the hood. looks taut and muscular, your car. But honestly, it needs bigger wheels. How about the optional M wheels that you get on the M kit? And then you can powder-coat it gun-metal.

That Cayman sure attracted a lot of attention around Nasik lol. Sounded pretty good too, hes planning an exhaust I think.

Hes driving an ML like that, because he can. He also has a 325i and a few others, but the ML is his out of town car.

Thanks bud, I agree about the lines. With the E90 my view is that grey brings out of the lines very well, unlike very dark or light colours where the lines get hidden. This along with blue is my favourite BMW colour, yes also Alpine white.

Again back to square one of the tuning for this, but its gonna have to wait a few months since the RS is coming very soon and that will keep me busy for a while.

He should get Tubi exhausts on his Cayman. They sound wonderful and give it that amazing high-pitched wail. The combination of a high-pitched wail and that lovely thrum from that boxer-motor is to die for!

I have a sneaky suspicion that you'd run-for-the-door, RS keys in hand, once it comes home! Try and convince daddyo that Pete's is the way to go.

Forgot to reply about your bit on the bigger wheels. I can't imagine the ride any harder than this lol, but sure if you want to give me the BMW performance 19" wheels I will gladly accept.

RS isn't going to get any mods anytime soon, I just need to get tints and upgrade the tyres on that.

Anyway thats for another thread, next week.
