More sightings of the lower version of Force One (which may come with the older 2.6L engine, same as Gurkha IMO), courtesy Motoroids:

The SUV looks bit better in these pictures as compared to older ones, maybe they have worked on finish of the workmanship in assembling the parts.

1. Cheap looking interiors
2. No driving comfort
3. Getting into back row is a real challenge
Recently a Friend of mine bought "Force one" and i had the chance to drive it around Greater Noida ExpressWay

The first impression was Big big big "how do they park this thing". Step inside one and all you can see is space space space.
The Drive was a breeze, the benz Engine is very responsive and i never felt the need to downshift. From downshift let me just say that the gear throw is long and one has to get use to it, but once you spend sometime in it, it become instinctive.

Pro's
  • Space
  • Ride quality
  • responsive engine
  • Road view and presence.

Con's
  • Cheap plastic
  • Interior is not at par with price
  • Long gearshift
  • No Abs (how do stop this beast in the rain)

I will probably try to get a review out of my friend but he is more of an instinctive type.

Thank You @007 Bond,

Their website is up now with the specs for the 3 variants. The old only variant SX now gets the ABS+EBD. Please refer the below link:

http://www.forceone.co.in/specification.php#content

The Pricing page doesn't seems updated at the moment.

And now the pricing is also updated:

Model Variant Price (Rs.)
EX 6+D 8,99,000
SX 5+D 11,78,059
SX 6+D 11,70,482
SX with ABS 5+D 12,06,374
SX with ABS 6+D 11,98,875

The pricing is fair IMO.

The prices of the top-end LX with 4X4 are not available on website.

Funny. They could definitely have squeezed one more variant in there. Or atleast took a few frills off the 2nd variant and priced it lower. That is a HUGE 2.78 lakh ex-showroom difference between the first and the 2nd variant. Going by gut instinct and general logic, people will find the first variant to be absolutely bare-bones and so will avoid it and the 2nd variant out of budget and will look elsewhere- at say a Scopio EX or the Safari EX (Not the Storm) which will get them good quality kit at a decent price.

The top variant's ex-showroom price in Hyderabad is 12.2L but it still does not come with Airbags. Would be nice to have Airbags. That and a SatNav system would make the car more competitive.

But overall quite impressed to see an Indian OEM sprucing up their level considerably.

ANy information on Force One's sale till date? It was never seen in month end sales hence the query.
Hope these new variants lift the sales up.
The car looks imposing. I had seen one where owner had removed Force One logo and installed Merc Logo. Was looking quite catchy.
Rural crowd simply gets blown by size and that actually should have been USP in their ad campaign.

Good Move, but somehow i do not like the way it looks.
It lacks the Finesse of say a Safari Storme,or even a Scorpio, forget about comparing with a Endeavour.

Finesse - Scorpio and Safari! Are you serious?

The Force One has far far better Handling and Ride quality, along with a very punchy engine. It has much much more space than either and can actually seat 7 people comfortably. The car is also reasonably put together nowadays. You should go and TD one.
The only let down for Force One, in fact all Force vehicles, is their Service network.

I meant the looks, force one looks outright hideous to me,take a look from the sides and it looks disproportionate .

Granted. But there is more to a vehicle than just looks. Personally, I find an i20 hideous.

Is this for the 4wd variant or non-4wd?

LX 4wd version has impressive torque figures. Keeping Thar aside , a person like me looking for a 4wd+family vehicle will have confusion between Gurkha, Force One and Scorpio LX 4wd. Though Force One if priced 12+ will go down the priority list.
