Hi Nitin, Congrats.
That was a exhaustive photo shoot you have put in.

Can you get a picture of the central console with lights on when you do the next photo session?
It will help us to see how orange console and blue back lights look in the black interiors.

Congratulations Nitin on being the first 2012 City Owner on the forum!

I just happened to see the 2012 version in flesh during my visit to the svc last week... and I must tell you that it looks so much better in person that in the imaged put up on Honda's Site!

It's great to see that you have implemented quite a few of the 'necessary' upgrades right from day one

I too had done many similar upgrades on you Oct 2011 City E... Its almost up to V-Spec now. See my ownership report here:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...addressed.html (Picked up my New Honda City! Update: Low GC & Headlight woes addressed)

What are your thoughts on upgrading the Headlights and Horns?

Will try to do that when I get the car, but that's not likely to happen for a couple more weeks as I am out of town...Our best bet is if Nitin posts more pictures sometime within the next few days.

Am really excited to see all the excitement around my car!
Am really tied up these days but posted the pics so that other forum members could see the same. 3M sun film done today; front 70,rear 70, sides 50.
Pending -
1. reverse sensor (waiting for one which has prismatic rear view mirror as the monochromatic doesn't save you from glare)
2. fog lights (not yet in stock)
3. Horn change to Hella (Vento OEM)
2 & 3 to be done together as the front bumper needs to be taken off.

Yes Maverick, like F150 has pointed out, paid 3700 for body color door handles, rvms & mud-flaps (yet to get them as they are out of stock).

I must say the HU looks good, so i think if you update the thread with HU details (price model #) instead of PM.
I think they don't like selling a thin margin model!
Point noted, wait for a detailed breakup cost & upgrade post.

Trust me it doesn't look nice but you can live with it.

Thanks Vikash! Yes, it does look much better in flesh.
Not going for a HL upgrade yet. For Horns see the top of the post.

Congratulations Nitin!

Love the black interiors in the CE variant. Personally I prefer this much more than the regular overload of beige in our cars. And the bonus is Honda has not skipped any safety features across the variants. Happy driving!

Hi Nitin,

Nice buy mate-and the interiors really look nice. Did not expect the black interiors to be so good.Personally i like light colours for the interiors but this one too is very good especially in a car that is quite roomy.

The CE is a fabulous buy-if Honda had given a choice of light or black interiors
for CE,nobody would have bought any other version,at least with manual gears.

A few doubts-
1.Your tyre upgrade is 195/60 R16 or 65 R15?
2.Did you consider installing ORVMs with turning indicators? Any idea how much?
3.Any improvement in the sound insulation?
4.Any improvement in the performance of A/C?
5.The car is slightly longer I understand- any increase in boot space?
6.Any insulation provided inside the boot lid?
7.What special features do the Hu has?Any improvement in speaker sound quality in the New City?

Hope these queries are not bothersome

Could you slightly improve the quality of snaps during next photo session? A few more interior photos would be welcome.

Congratulations again on the first New Honda City on T-BHP. Happy ownership experience ,mate.

Looking forward to more updates.

Regards,charthom.

Thanks Charthom! Here you go:
1. It's Michelin Primacy LC 195/60/15. The circumference difference between the OE & these is 3.25 mm which is less than 2% of 113.75 OEM - 175*.65=113.75 195*.6=117. 195/65/xx would lead to more than 2% difference.
2. Not considering; lesser messing with the electricals, better it is. I think they are 2300 each but would be sometime before they become available at the dealer. Aftermarket like Galieo would be 1/3rd the price.
3. Sound insulation is as good or as bad as the 08 City.
4. It's winters in Delhi so too hard to comment on the AC improvement.
5. The increase in length is only due to bumper changes. Underpinnings remain unchanged.
6. None whatsoever; as flimsy as the 08 City.
7. The CE does not come with a HU or speakers. I have installed aftermarkets.

Sure, will post improved pics soon.

Hearty Congratulations, Nitin! Thanks for all the pictures!

Boy, does the new City look stunning or what! Those new alloys add a nice little touch of sophistication to the car. Paint job looks fabulous as well, and I will definitely be getting it done when I take delivery of mine.

And the all-black interiors are indeed a BIG relief from the biege overdose we have in practically all cars these days. The quality of the blue/black is similar to the one in the new Jazz X, and it feels soft to the touch. The best part of the new City is the superb blue-lighted speedo; it makes the City a true smaller brother of the Civic now! And trust me folks when I say this - the blue backlighted display looks fantastic at night!

I got to check out the Corporate last evening as well. Will post a few pointers in the City thread. Happy revving, my friend!

Many congratulations on your new car. CE is a terrific VFM proposition and the all black interiors look much better than the black/beige combo on the higher variants. This also gives you the flexibility to customize your car to your taste without having to compromise on the essential safety kit.

Wishing you a very memorable and pleasant ownership experience with your new car.

Thanks Avinash! Yes, the paint is worth the outcome. Just be careful on the pin locks when they open up the handles to paint.

Yes but I read from B103 that 65 aspect ratio gives better comfort. can you comment on this?

My query was about your after market one

@Avi,

But I thought you liked the white and black contrast feeling on the CE! Sure you are painting? And nice that you are getting the car early now.

No problem buddy, bring them on!

Won't be able to comment on 65s, logically yes they should provide more comfort but technically incorrect.
Yes, they look and work the same. In fact, Honda OEM fogs glass is so flimsy that a rebound pebble at times breaks them.
Mine is a Kenwood 5120, iPod control, aux, usual double din. Speakers are good enough for me; JBLs.

That is exactly what the workshop guys are apprehensive of.

The last time they did it on another City, the pin locks broke off and the handles became useless. Needless to say, the owner gave them a real earful and they had to replace them for free.

That's why they don't want to do the paint job on my City. But, if it's needed to be done, I will get it done.

Yes buddy, but my Corporate is Alabaster Silver. Somehow I feel that the All Blacks (ORVMs and door handles) won't gel as well with the Silver shade, as they do with the pretty strong Tafeta White.

Still, I will take a decision on the paint job when I do the PDI. If it seems appealing enough, no work done.

Nitin's paint job looks super. If only we had that kind of professional work done in Chhattisgarh!
