@mayankjha1806 and @MAS, This image on the Safari webpage is been like this just after the show-case in Auto EXPO in Jan 2012. So, this is nothing new [unfortunately].

The news above on Aug/Sep time-frame seems realistic and this goes well with someone who said around "Ganesh Chathurthi" time-frame.

Lets be patient and see.

Prem.

I would say go for the Safari right now, enjoy it thoroughly for 2-3 years as you mentioned and then switch to Storme or whatever will be the best option then.

Thanks for the reply Ajay but I am not worried about current Safari going absolete, I just want to buy better one and strome look to be one.

Thanks Dev,

Yah, that seems to be sensible as I will not be taking the depreciation hit while buying a almost new pre-owned Safari and will not be loosing much while selling it 2-3 years down the line and who knows what initial niggles Strome is goign to come with

Regarding the pic of Strome on the website, as Kaviprem said its been there since long, not even there its been on Safari's official Facebook page too.

I think we now know where the Storme got its inspiration from:

"M&M pips TATA Motors to 3rd slot. Once 2nd largest Passenger vehicle maker is now ranked 4th. " - TOI

Is this not ringing any bells for TM to launch their new vehicles Safari storme and try regain their position. It doesn't give good impression of them to hold the launch. IMO Something is seriously wrong in TM management.

This is certainly demoralizing news about a group known for its high ethics, values, and most importantly, patriotism.

I wonder what is wrong with TML. When every manufacturer worth his piece of cake is planning a plethora of vehicles and models to gain a share of the Indian market, TML seems to have no vision at all.

I noticed that BS3 variants of GX and VX have gone out of the price list on
Safari website. Is it clearing the decks for new Safari or is there any
initiative to phase out BS3?

Folks, Had been to Concorde at Mumbai today. And this is what was standing outside. Pretty shameful of TATA to just let their unreleased car stay out on the streets.

VXP badging was something that was a bit intriguing. Rest all has been discussed thread bare before.

Also, this version had jump seats in the back.

Cheers

Storme has been shown on all possible media and there was this event from Tata where prospective owners were called to test drive & review. When tata themselves revealed the product, there is nothing to hide in it now.

Tata Officials have said that there will NO front facing third row and there will be jump seats ONLY owing to floor height.

Curious to know what is intriguing about VXP badging

Am not sure what the P stands for? Generally badging ends at a VX.

Cheers

VXp has reverse guide system and full leather seats with Safari embossing extra over VX. You can call it a very very basic remote "Option-Pack"

Why shameful? We should be happy that it probably means it will be in the showrooms soon.

Where and when was this event held?

"P" as in Pack, along the lines of the Linea, it stand for some sort of "value" pack.

If you are mentioning my test drive for the Storme, it was not for "prospective" owners, it was for some existing Safari owners who have had the Safari for some time, to differentiate between the two and maybe give inputs as to what is desirable in the new avatar.

I am not sure how the engine layout has changed. I see similar layout in my 2012 GX, not sure earlier versions had different layouts.
