Like the tagline...

"The Beast. Refined."

Their tagline having 'Beast Refined' itself says that the vehicle is not an all new rather an upgrade, otherwise what stopped them from calling it 'Beast Redefined'. It clearly shows, Lack of Confidence of TML.

I think naming the car 'SAFARI' at the first place means that it is improved Safari and not an entirely new car. Since it will be using alot of components from the current Safari, it seems appropriate to term it as 'redefined'. No offence, its just my opinion.

IMO they are playing safe after the Aria debacle... by not portraying it as something new, rather just evolution of the Safari (which in fact, it is not). Moreover, this can help lure back unsuspecting/ uninformed Safari fans easily.

. Exactly my thoughts. "Refined" suggest to old being "Crude" and its now improved. doesn't it?

There is no hard and fast rule. It is a pure branding decision. Otherwise BMW would have been on 26-series by this time! :-)

Yes, there is'nt, but at such a time where TML product looks like loosing to the competition before launch, even a small change must be considered as important. Although, words are not where we expect change instead in the vehicle, but words do matter alot for critics. I am a no critic for Safari infact I am in a situation where I am loving the Storme for its technical improvements but hating for not being an all new.

Saw a lot of Storme's getting loaded into the trucks day before yesterday while I was in Pune. This was on the Pune-Chakan road around Moshi, where Tata Motors has a huge stock yard.

Hold your ground,
Challenge the elements,
The beast is on its way.
Are you ready to face the STROME?

Got the message from TD088808 (I think some number from TATA). So looks like the wait is really over this time. Enough with 'insider ino'

Lets wait and watch whether its really going to be a STROME or a phuss Patakha

i don't think its lack of confidence. Its the evolution strategy which almost every manufacturer does but that doesn't mean its not new. Look at New range rover. They want to preserve the very essence of range rover as a brand value and still an all new product.

Now this is something right that TATA is doing. Man this should really shake some ruffles of other brands - I am sure Mahindra must be watching closely as they are also reading their new Scorpio and would surely want to know how everyone is reacting to Storme. I am just loving this...

Come on - why are the day not going soon and I can lay my hands on the new Safari.

Good to see some excitement on this thread now. Looks like Tata guys have woken up to the Storme and giving it the kind of launch that it deserves. But, I still think it lacks the kind of anticipation that XUV created during it's launch. Again, Storme is not a "new" product right? Guys down south may have to wait longer to get a hand on this one. . Do we have a date of availability to test Storme in Bangalore?
