I give it at Advaith Hyundai, outer ring road (opposite to Intel). You can contact the SA by name Vikram there.

My 3 months old i20(P) has started showing some unusual problems:-

1. The seat warning sound keeps on beeping even after wearing the seatbelt. But it is not the normal beep but an accelerated one as if someone has put the beep on fastforward. It comes on for like 5 secs and then stops, but comes back again after a minute or so & thep same keeps on happening.

2. The indicator light has stoped working when the car is closed from the remote. The opening indicators lights are working but not the closing ones.

Although I would be taking the car to HASS this weekend, but any idea what could be the problem?

Both of these are Indicators for a lock which is hasn't been closed properly.
It may sound surprisingly obvious but :

Check, Open and close all the Doors, The Boot and the Bonnet and that should do it.

If that doesn't solve the problem go to the HASS and ask them to recheck all the locks for you.

Its a pure sign of gate sensor going kaput and sending *open* gate signals and hence the sound. Try to diagnose which gate is it, if it is an Asta variant it will show on the speedometer console MID.

Hope this helps.

The front windshield of my month old i20 was shattered by a falling coconut last week. Yes I had parked her under a coconut tree in the monsoon .
Damage done - Front windshield shattered + brake light on rear spoiler broken (not sure how) + internal day/night rear view mirror assembly damaged (mirror works though) + rain sensor (possibly as that area of the wind shield) suffered the maximum impact. Dropped her at Shreenath Hyundai A.S.S (Thane) & I was told that simply replacing the windshield will cost about 8.5 - 9K (parts + labour) & the brake light on the rear spoiler needs to be replaced as a unit even though just the cover is broken & LED array is intact & working - cost 4.2 - 5 K . Went with insurance.
What's more is that they do not have this part in stock & it's expected by 24 July. Waiting for my baby to come home next week.

Was there a Magna (O) variant launched? There is no mention of such a variant on the official Hyundai brochure but a car advertisement I was checking states that the car is a magna O variant. Any idea what additional changes were made to this car? Its a November 2012 Hyundai i20.

There was an (O) variant of magna. Not sure if it was on the petrol or diesel or both.

Yes, there used to be a i20 Magna(O) available sometime back.
They had removed the ICE from the Magna and 1-2 things more and reduced the price by 10-15k and introduced the Magna (O) which was priced at a premium of ~30k.
Additional equiment on the Magna (O) over the Magna at the time were mainly ACC, electric adjusting & folding mirrors, music system with 4 speakers & 2 tweeters aux-usb (no bluetooth),rear defogger and mirror mounted indicators.
There has been a model rejig again I guess. The Magna(O) is no more. The i20 Magna on sale now, has ACC and all the things which came on the Magna(O).

A facelifted i20 on its way, perhaps with a different name. Any news?

Default Hyundai i20 (1.2P, 1.4D & 1.4 AT) : Official Review

There are lot of pics on the web of the new i20. We even have in our own scoop threads. A link for one of my latest post there.

IMO, the new i20 deserves more than just being called a face lift

If, I may ask, what kind of average are you guys getting on the 1.2 petrol? I've had my Asta for just over 9 months now and I've done about 5.3K kilometres (most of this has been in the city) so far and I'm getting just about 9 kmpl! I think that's kinda low :(

That's approximately what I'm getting (~ 8 to 9) in city traffic as well, with the A/C on all the time. I haven't calculated the exact FE yet.

However, the FE sees a marked improvement when driven mostly on highways, again with the A/C on all the time. I get at least 15 km (again an approximation) to the litre under such conditions.

My car has not had its oil changed yet, and I hope it improves after the 2nd service. Still, I'm keeping my expectations realistic, and I don't think I'll get more than 10 kmpl in city conditions with full time air-con usage. I'm expecting a bigger improvement in the highway FE number.

Ok, then it isn't so bad. I thought I've been driving really bad. On a recent trip from Mumbai to Pune, I got nearly 14 kmpl with both city and highway driving.

Let's hope that after the first oil change, things start looking up
