Post Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 - 1700 km Report..

Loads of new cars have been launched in the near past and I have changed my mind from Fiesta 1.6 to Swift and then to Getz and yet to be launched Chevrolet U-VA… Before buying the car, I had taken test drives of the following vehicles.
1. Ford Fiesta 1.4 – 3 times
2. Maruti Swift – 4 times
3. Hyundai Getz – 1 time
4. Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 – 3 times

But, this car just took my heart away. Not only in terms of looks but also in terms of Power, Torque, comfort and most important Customer Care and Sales team…… Yesss.. I am talking about none other than Chevrolet Aveo 1.4…. Bought the vehicle on 31-Mar-06 and was on a roller coaster ride with 650+ kms on 2-April-06… Drove for around 13 hours….. And I could not feel better…. The vehicle is very smooth. The suspension is awesome and is very comfortable

Car Details
1. Make : Chevrolet
2. Model : Aveo 1.4
3. Color : Cashmere
4. ICE
a. HU : Pioneer 6850
b. Front Components : JBL 506ce
c. Rear Speakers : Company fitted (40 W; Peak: 70 W)
…. I was along with my friend and the boot was Full!!! It really drove well and gave a FE of 14.8 on highway with AC on all the time.

Some things which I noticed in my car…
1. When speeding over 100 kph a light hizzzing sound was heard. The Service guyz checked the beading and the problem is now solved.
2. When taking turns at high speeds a noise from the door was coming. The Service guys said that there was a problem with the door alignment/leveling and now the problem has been rectified.
3. When I take a reverse a two noises were heard. Have to get it rectified.
As I said I was delighted by their service.

Now the + ves about Aveo, which I have experienced.

1. Excellent suspension
2. Good use of Battery Saver
3. Option of closing the Power windows even after removing the key (for 30 seconds)
4. Very comfy seating. You just don’t feel tired even after 13 hours of non-stop driving
5. Comfortable city drive.

Statistics

1. Kms Done (overall) : 1700+ kms
2. Kms Done (Highway) : around 750 kms
3. Kms Done (City) : around 950 kms
4. Fuel Economy : 14.8 kpl on highway
5. Fuel Economy : 11.5 kpl in city

I am happy that I made Chevrolet Aveo, the First Car of my life ! ! !

Congrats on your new acquisition. BTW, pretty nice FE for a Chevy.

Hey, congrats on your new car, I'm sure she's a beauty. How is the high speed handling? The tall look of the Aveo makes me wonder how she handles around corners.

Ouch! on a new car?
Service may be good but GM needs to work on quality of product coming out of assembly line.

the colour looks good on car. Did you got it registered yet?

hey congrats on your new purchase. I guess yours is the first aveo on the forum and glad to know it has delighted you. The fuel efficiency is damn good too! Hope you have years and years of trouble free motoring with the Aveo.

So what does this mean ? I mean Astra & Corsa's production have also stopped in India does this mean that they were bad cars. Qualis was dumped into Indian market almost a decade after selling in other parts of world, so was it a bad product, from what I know it changed the tours & travels industry in India.

The Optra is actually a Daewoo car which went bankrupt & was brought in India under the Chevy brand & we all know its a good car.

Sorry dont want to sound rude or offensive but all I want to say is that as long as dumping gives you a good product I dont see anything wrong in it

The issues about bankruptcy may be true (1 in 5 chances). Here's more -

its goin through a loss of 4.8 billion all we can do is wait and watch..and mr technocrat ...i never said its a bad car we all know wht happened to daewoo cielo once the maufacturing of the car was stopped the resale vaue went down more than its half price.. ppl think twice before buying a car thts nt being manufactured ... and this case its the whole company so might affect the service stations too anywayz no offences dont know how the aveo is was just tlking abt the long term issue..
