You have just removed the resonator and added a straight pipe right ?
Any reasons for not removing the cat con?

What grade pipe are you using for the free flow? Will you use stainless steel or are you ordering it from overseas?
Sorry for these many questions.

Mild steel, same as factory. Stainless makes too much of a drone

This is a problem that happens sporadically and randomly with all RCD 320 systems. I have detailed the issue in my numerous mails to Volkswagen and after having it replaced twice can confirm that it is a bug that has not been solved yet. Volkswagen is not agreeing to take responsibility for this issue primarily because the lack of complains from customers.

Easy way for people to do a cheap exhaust. Get the OEM mid pipe from 1.2HTP/1.2TDI. Its the same pipe, without the resonator. Replace your mid section with this pipe and cut out the rear silencer n replace it with a muffler of ur choice.. n voila :-D

Throttle Body Re-Alignment. DO IT! VCDS has an option using UDS adaptations in the Engine Controller.

It will make your throttle more responsive. Definitely feel the difference immediately.

Drive-by-Wire (DBW) Engines using KWP-7000 (UDS/ODX)

Check to see if the engine speaks KWP-2000 or CAN by looking in the top left of the Open Controller Screen. UDS modules do not support conventional Measuring Blocks - 08 so that button will be grayed out. They do not support conventional Adaptation - 10 or Basic Settings - 04 group numbers, so all choices are found in drop-down menus in these modules.

Make sure the coolant is warm. Turn the key on but do not start the car.
[Select]
[01 - Engine]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Chose a variant of Throttle Valve Adaptation from the drop-down list
[Go!] to activate the Basic Settings
After the result of Finished Correctly appears click [Stop]
The TB may cycle for the first few seconds then it will stop. Leave it in Basic Settings for about 30 seconds.

Click the [Done, Go Back] button and you're all set.
Be sure not to touch the accelerator and make sure the engine is NOT running when you do this!

Did some more acceleration testing with the exhaust setup. Impressive results.

Cant wait for peter to finish testing out the de-cat map for the polo.

Amazing work prithwi! One doubt though. At the end of the video, it says 8.4 seconds to the ton. How accurate is this? Are these vbox readings? If yes, I'll surely be getting one after the facelift arrives.

The time readings are from the video Suraj. Clocked it while editing in Adobe premiere. Dont have a Vbox.

Getting the bumper this weekend Rana. Cant wait! Should be on next week.

On a separate note, tried to see how the car performs on the newly launched 93 Octane. I've been using 97 on it since i got it so wanted to see if it really lived up to its price.

The impact settled in a bit slow as i still had some 97 in the tank. But by the end of my regular drive to office, the car seemed a LOT slower. The throttle was heavy, and there was a very noticeable turbo lag in the car. The acceleration took a nose dive, and also saw FE taking a dip to about 9.8~10 (compared to the 13.5-14.5 i normally get) indicating there was timing pull and the car was pumping more fuel to cool the intake charge. Yes all cars do that (pump more fuel to cool the cylinder temp)!

By my evening commute back, i really hated the performance. It was sluggish, slow to react, and felt choked. FE was a bit worse at 9-9.5kmpl. Frustrated I decided to push the car a little on an open stretch of road and was even more disappointed. My snappy acceleration had disappeared, and no matter how much i tried i couldnt get the FE to drop below 8.5 showing that the car had pulled back a lot of timing and was not making power or reaching peak boost (it drops to 7 to 7.5 when i really push it on 97 indicating that I'm making more power and holding peak boost. I've even dropped to 6 when I was really pushing the hell out of the car showing no timing retardation and steady power).

I kind of regret filling up a full tank now. Oh well, now I know I'm never getting regular fuel on this car unless its an emergency.
