Put coilovers on too. BC Racing v1, with adjustable dampers. Result... first place in delhi autox open petrol category, and a beautiful stance.

Congrats buddy. Nice to see you back in action after a short hiatus. Inquisitive minds want to know about turn-in, etc. I'm not sure based on the pictures if there was enough speed for slip-angles, ie. fast flowing or your typical east-coast BMWCCA auto-x model where it's pretty tight.

Its a tight track with some open sections. See for yourself

Its designed rather well, and from what I hear, they have been organizing this for a while now. Grouping for the maruti only classes is pretty decent. But in the Open Classes needs to be worked on as my friend ended up battling it out with a 2.4L accord in his 1.4L punto on the final day with the track changed to fast and flowing..

AutoX Review-

On Day 1 Ran the car with stock suspension, and HATED it. Its not just the suspension, as a GT TDI was running great times. Its the combination of ESP, suspension, inability to use the handbrake and the superlight TSI motor which was ruining the cornering dynamics that are required for an autoX car. Ran to arush@autopsyche the same night who got the suspension installed by 10am next morning. did a quick setup test run at the garage and was off to Day 2. Had to quit mid way thru day 2 giving up on two of my 4 qualifying runs as my front tires were rubbing the inside fenderwells making ESP cut in very hard, again back to Arush@Autopsyche for a quick change in setup at 840PM at night (thanks bro, really appreciate the help). Fixed the front ride height, did some testing and more adjustments, adjusted the dampers to compensate for the height adjustments and back home for a quick nap before Day 3.

Day 3 was really fun as they had opened up the track so i cud put the power down and pull out ahead. Still ESP bothered the heck out of me forcing me to go slow.

Suspension Review -

One word.. GO KART!! :-) Its become a HOOT to drive. No mad dive on emergency braking, and the adjustable damping makes it MUCH more liveable as a daily driver unlike the B14s on my VRS. I am still playing around with the rake and damping settings so a comprehensive review will come later.

The car has also the XDS setting set to strong, and the turn in response has gone up hugely. If you have VCDS, TURN IT ON, and set it to STRONG. It will virtually eliminate understeer. Best thing next to a read deal LSD! With the suspension + XDS, I was ahead of my competition by about 10 sec gap, with ESP spoiling the game as the track had become gravelly and ESP kept kicking in cutting power (even with TCS off). I was scared to use the handbrake as the 7DSG is known to disengage the clutch sometimes when u do so, and rengagement takes time.

I have finally figured out a way to turn off ESP completely via VCDS, so next AutoX will hopefully do better times. Even tho I won the class, I honestly wasnt very happy with my times as the suspension setup wasnt complete and the ESP kept making me make significant corrections to my driving style to try and ensure it doesn't interfere and abruptly cut power.

How to turn ESP completely off - Steering controller, adaptations, steering angle sensor off. You get a sold tcs light and your good to go. XDS and ABS work with the abs sensors so they will work now as well.

Warning.. the car behaves radically diffrently when pushed with the ESP off (in a good way) but is snappy at the limits (read snap over steer) combined with the suspension. So find an open parking lot and get an idea of how the car behaves without ESP before you push it on the street.

Even better way to use the ASR OFF button with long press to disable ESP.
USING VCDS:
1. "Select Control Module"
2. Select "03 - ABS Brakes"
3. Select "Coding - 07"
4. Copy & Paste your long coding into a text editor (for safe backup)
5. Change the byte 6 number from "0" to "8"
6. Change the byte 14 number from "0" to "1"

Will try on my car and report back.

Supposedly works on all MK60ABS controllers, so all VAG cars in India that have them can use ASR button to defeat ESP(Jetta, Laura L&K, Passat etc)

Doesnt work. Controller doesnt accept coding :( It seems we have a newer module (ESP9.0i) than the ones the coding is designed for.

8000km update. The car has performed beautifully,. The stock tune setup was there for about 4000kms.. no issues. Remapped now for about 4000kms and not a glitch. Remap boost is ~1.5 psi over stock for stage 1. The BC Racing coilovers make the car a gem to drive hard.. the adjustable damping and height are brilliant for both city and track. I can say for sure that ever since I got coilovers B14s on the laura vrs, I pretty much have stopped using it daily. But the BC Racings on the Polo are a different league. The ride comfort at half stiffness at 15 clicks is brilliant for daily aggressive use, and I can stiffen it up another time 15 clicks for the track for the hardcore go cart handling. The beauty is also that you can change the damping setup to be different in front and back, kind of like having adjustable sways. Keep the rears harder than the front, and u get a hint of oversteer and very aggressive cornering. Keep the front stiffer and u get nice safe neutral understeer.. keep all at 10 clicks and its buttery smooth toyota corolla style ride. F.E is constant at 13.5 to 15 kmpl in city and morning commutes in the brilliant 20kmph traffic with 97 octane. 97 even though expensive, is so worth it for the car.

The new front bumper from the Polo R WRC is here and getting painted. Will click some pics when its finished and put em up.

Nice one prithwi-81!

How good are the BC coil overs compared to a B16?
If price is not a concern, would you still advocate the BC's over B16s?

Havent been in a car with b16s yet, but would assume a similar performance. The bc damper setup ranges from kw street comfort and to b14 levels of stiffness at full stiff. The springs are slightly softer than the b14s though. My reason for getting them was that they were offering b16 levels of adjustability at b14 price.
