I just test drove the Celerio AMT and noticed three odd things about the drive, anyone who has driven can confirm if its the same and not isolated to my test vehicle.

a. Shuddering on the steering wheel and pedals when the car is idling. Once the RPM is increase on idle the shuddering vanishes.
b. The car takes 2-3 secs to move in 1st gear once we release the brake.
c. A big nudge is observed when gear changes from 1st to 2nd.

Hello Motomaverick - Sounds like an isolatd event, I have driven the car and i experience none of the aspects you have listed, would recommend you try at an alternate dealer.

Best - ML

I'm not very good at writing. Besides the official review will be out soon. All I can say is that the AMT is worth the money. Sure it's not perfect but for the price it does the job.

Eager to know the performance & driveability of Celerio as I am planning to buy a new small car for my wife. So far only i10 & i20 are the contenders.
Extremely easy to drive. If you get fed up of the Auto you can just switch to manual.

As per a report in Rushlane, the Celerio CNG will offer a mileage of 31.79 kmpkg. Imo this is the highest for CNG-ed vehicles, after Nano CNG.

Does anyone have any info if the CNG model will be stick shift or AMT? If it is AMT, the cost may go up even beyond the ZXI territory!

The Manual version is exorbitantly priced. For what is basically a three cylinder 1 litre engine, a car with tin like build quality and rattly interiors the manual version's pricing is ridiculous. Once the hype of AMT dies down this car will need a price cut to make the manual version more appealing.

Both the AMT and the usual autos do the shifting for the driver, the difference lies in the way they shift gears.
The AMT is a std manual gearbox with some mechanical bits and a computer added to it,the computer depending upon the various parameters operates the clutch and shifts gears.
A Dual clutch auto is similar to the amt(it also is an AMT),it has two clutches, one for even set of gears and one for odd set of gears,to reduce shift times.
Another auto which is now starting to appear on cars in India is the CVT,it uses a belt and two conical pulleys, for more info view this video
The most common type of autobox is the one which uses the torque converter,it is also popularly known as a slush box,it is a fluid coupling which uses fluid to transfer the power from the engine to the gearbox, for more on torque converters view this link

I am planning to go in for the CNG variant of the Celerio. I was considering the Wagon r CNG and was about to book it. But now with the news of Celerio being offered in a CNG variant. I am planning to go the Celerio instead.

The dealers in Navi Mumbai are not aware of the launch date and asked to book the petrol variant, which they will then transfer to the booking of the CNG variant. Should i go ahead and book the Celerio is this manner, or wait for the launch date and then do the booking? Also what is the expected launch date?
