I have booked Brio automatic and it will be delivered(hopefully) around first week on June.
When do I have to pay the balance amount? Sales guy says I have to pay the balance amount once my car is shipped from the factory. Is it correct or I can pay once the car is reached Chennai showroom. According to him delivery will take 10 days to reach Chennai.

Hi VMG, I guess your query is already addressed by sjiitk. Good luck for your new car and hoping to see your experiences in the ownership section.

Update time: Lady Red followed its masters to its new home 3 weeks back. Lady Red has become an integral family part with its fun to love ride and even has become a selected choice for my driver

We got our regular family car registration number procured for Lady Red and I have to still get the license plates done.

More detailed updates to follow soon, as I am still sorting out the home and various other logistics to be settled in

I am planning to buy Brio with auto transmission and have few silly questions.

I believe the gear stick in Brio automatic does not have a shift lock. In the US, most of the auto cars I have seen has a button on the stick which needs to be pressed to change the gear from D to R or any other. Can you or more so your co-passenger accidentally change the gear from D to R while driving?

Also, given that this machine is powered by a 1.2L engine, how easy do you find it driving on slopes? Do you drive on D2?

Hi Damager21,

Good decision to go for Brio!

Brio has the gear release button below the grip on to the front. The gear would not shift from D to R, even otherwise. However, the gear first has to be put in Neutral, which means the car has to be stopped completely before the R is engaged. So, no issues on that!

I have never found the car struggling for power. The D3 position is efficient, and you might want to use a D2 or D1 depending upon the uphill or downhill ride.

But there is no lock between D to N and N to D mode.

Hi folks, it is update time!

Sorry for being away from the thread for some time due to prior engagements both at work and home front!

Lady Red continues to be a ride of Joy! She breached the 1000km mark recently and the mileage is in the range of ~10kmpl, so far. I expect this to go up once it crosses 5000km mark.

Also, I was invited to the launch ceremony of Honda Mobilio to do the unveiling of the new car at Pride Honda dealer recently!

Go to the showroom and pretend you are not too sure between i10/brio

I am sure you will set some discount. Last I heard there is ongoing 5% discount + free insurance for December. (i know this because I am buying a Brio)

Great pictures with detailed explanation buddy. Congratulations for your Brio buddy. Wishing you loads of happy miles in it and have a safe motoring. Brio is a perfect car for the City mainly because of it's nimbleness and size. Adding to the size is the Automatic gearbox which makes driving in City a breeze. Congrats once again buddy and wishing you a safe motoring .

Hi Surya,

You have been away from this thread for quite sometime now.
Any updates on your car? How is it aging?

I am planning to buy a used Brio Automatic.

Based on your experience, can you suggest if there is anything(possible issues/niggles) I should be looking specifically?

Hi ank.nsit,

Brio is a very competent car in AT. I had no issues or niggles neither my wife, told me any as it was her car. I have sold this off and we purchased a Ford EcoSport AT for my wife 2 months back.

Brio- is a complete peace of mind car and should serve you nice with the regular maintenance.
