The prices are way off from what was speculated. For all the bashing Autocar received for the leaked pricelist they were actually the ones who got it right (and not the various birdies floating around here and there!)

Maruti and Renault can breathe easy. Although I do feel the Creta still offers a decent value at these prices. Unlimited km warranty and auto diesel might still do the trick for Hyundai. Now it will be interesting to see how many of those 15,000 bookings translate to actual sales, especially for the 1.6 Diesel.

Those 10,000 bookings would be cut short to 2500 by evening.

Way too high!!

Couldn't understand introductory price, they already had 10K + booking, so even if someone book it now they will pay higher prices by the time of delivery? Is it so?

Not to put them in the same league but my Mahindra built XUV came with a standard 3 years 1,00,000 kms as well. Also, an additional 2 years extended warranty now covers my XUV for 5 years and 1,50,000 kms. And that covers everything, end to end.

So some manufacturers do bite the bullet to just make a point, may be?

It simply means that Hyundai is trying to make that 10k bookings higher... as high as they can take it. They are giving you a not so subtle hint that these prices are temporary and they will go up. So please open your wallet now! Its a marketing tactics basically.

Tad expensive IMO
You'll need to add about 25-35k for the ex-factory prices and then use a multiplication factor of 1.25 (yes, a whopping 25% to account for the hightest taxes in the country)

Let's take the 1.6 Diesel variants and see how they look:

SX 11.90 - ~ 14.8 OTR
SX+ MT 13.00 - 16.25 OTR
SX+ Auto 14.00 - 17.5 OTR
SX(O) MT 14.00 - 17.5 OTR

Like GTO says, foresight counts and considering that I'd choose the Hyundai only for the AT, I'm happy I did not pre-book

Not too impressed by the pricing. The SX(O) variant with essential safety features such as ESP and curtain airbags is extremely expensive. I am not sure as to what Hyundai means by introductory pricing.

Will it be hiked, or will it be dropped?

I am sure the Creta will sell, but I was expecting more aggressive pricing from Hyundai's side.

The prices are tad higher, but still happy with the pricing. I kept telling that you can't expect Verna pricing on Creta. I am going to book in Bangalore.

I have called up my dealer and requested for cancellation, sorry Hyundai you have lost the plot here. 16 plus for an automatic is way too much for not a fully loaded SUV.

So they did get greedy after seeing the response they got. Before, I was sure that they would top the segment charts beating even the scorpio. Now, let the reviews come that the ride and handling is not as good as the duster, ecosport is completely safe due to the pricing, and you can have an XUV W8 for a lakh more. Sure it has looks but it is not now a 'disruptive product'. Lets see how it does.

13.6 SX(O) will translate to easily early 14 Lakhs for Ex showroom Bangalore and OTR around 16.5+.
Really dissapointed with the pricing being so high - XUV/Duster - here i come!

The prices are too high and the prices are on average around 1.5 lakhs above than what was being predicted here. 11.45 lakhs for the 1.4 S+ and 12.67 for SX+ is well above the price for the Verna.
The crossovers are usually priced 2000-3000 $ above their sedan counterparts they are based on in overseas markets and they have followed the same pricing here too.
The Ecosport would hardly be affected as the Titanium diesel costs only 11.5 on road in Chennai just as much as the Creta 1.4 S+ costs. The Duster and Terrano would need big discounts or a big price cut to survive.

Hyundai Creta 1.6 SX(O) - 13,60,xxx
Mahindra Xuv500 w8 - 14,40,000

Basically for only 80k extra, one can get a much bigger, powerful better vehicle while only loosing out on a sunroof. In that case, the W10 sells for 90 k above the W8.

For 1.7 L above the Creta SX (O) , we can get the XUV W10,a much better package.

For Bangalore Multiply above 10 lakh ex-showroom prices 1.1881 for road tax and 1.041 for insurance. You get the basic onroad price

Mr Srivastava did SHOCK me with prices Indeed. I guess they had initially planned for lower prices but got greedy looking at the response.

I was estimating these atleast 100-120k cheaper like everyone else.
