The nice pictures complete a nice review.
Thanks a lot. Yes, it's a great feeling and really enjoying the car. Just drove through some ghat sections and the car impressed me more. Details and pictures of the trip later today.

Thanks a lot and congrats on your car. I am sure you will enjoy it, trust me. Nothing major with the headlight mod. Just going install install HIDs. The dealer here provides P8 HIDs for 9k. As some drilling will be needed to run the wire through the dust cover, I thought it's better to go with the hyundai dealer. Will upgrade sometime in Sept/Oct. Keep us updated on your new ride too.

Thanks a lot. My weekend trip covering 330kms gave me around 17-18kmpl or more I guess.

Update: Weekend drive (city/highway/ghat)

Completed a 300 km drive to Munnar over the weekend and to put the feedback in one word - Amazing!

1. The route was good except for a km of bad potholes in the hilly section. The car took the potholes really well.

2. Comfort and Performance - The route was a mix of city, highway (not the usual arrow straight ones), ghat road. The performance through the ghat section was amazing. I remember I used to downshift to 2nd or even 1st gear in the ecosport. But Creta took it with ease and was easily climbing in the 3rd gear. The torque was amazing. Body roll was minimal and my wife didnt complain of motion sickness.

3. Lights - The fog was pretty intense when we reached there and the lights were adequate. The fog lights + Projectors and those lovely cornering lamps helped a lot in the twisty ghat section. HID's in the projectors would have made it perfect. Light upgrade is really not necessary.

4. Mileage - I am guessing anywhere between 17-18kmpl for this trip.

Now for some pictures.

Odo reading after completing the drive. Had topped up the tank.

Very nice set there Naveen! We can already see you have begin to enjoy the Creta. Just a curious: what is it that you tied to the roof rails? I fail to recognize it.

Naveen. Looks like a nice drive. Amazing photographs.

Hyundai can use a couple of snaps for their brochures. Lol.

Did anyone sit in the rear seats? Is there any body roll while doing ghats and highway curves?

Is there any pitching in a straight line?

Enjoy your ride.

Simply stunning pictures there, wonderful and thanks for sharing them. What better location for a new car's photo-shoot than the picturesque Munnar.

Wish you had taken some pictures with the fog lights on, then the projectors on and last but not the least the cornering lights.

Lovely pics of the High Ranges - and the tea plantations - esp the ones with mist. I'm quite a sucker for mist.
Body roll I guess was substantially less than the Ecosport from your report.

Thanks a lot. Yes, definitely. Enjoying the car to the fullest. This short drive to the ghats is really tempting and I might do another one to another location this weekend. As JV pointed out, thats a bike carrier. More details in the previous page.

Thanks a lot. The road was great all the way except for few broken sections. Didnt get a chance to fully test the vehicle.

LOL. Thanks a lot Arjun. The rear seat was empty and it wont be used 99% of the time. There's some body roll but not all that evident and although the seat bolstering isnt that good when compared to ecosport, creta did perform well on the twisty sections. My passenger usually comments on this and she gave a for comfort.

Thanks a lot. Yes, I missed taking pictures with the lights on. Realized that when my friends commented.

Default Ground Clearance of SX(O)

Sir the ground clearance of Hyundai creta SX(O) should be higher based on the following calculations. The sales executive is not clear but i did my own math and i am not sure if this is correct,

Ground clearance claimed by other web sites for 16" Alloys with 205/65 R 16 is 183 mm. Then i calculated the Ground for 17" Alloys which comes as standard in SX(O) model,

Tyre wall thickness for 205/65 R16 = 205*65%= 133.25 mm
Tyre Wall thickness for 215/60 R17 = 215*60%= 129 mm

So 4.25 mm height is lost due to wall thickness is SX(O) model but a gain of one inch that is 25.4 mm is achieved by 17" alloys. So the net gain will be 21.15 mm, in that case the SX(O) Ground clearance should be 183+21.15mm that is 204.15 mm and almost equal to 2WD duster and more than the Ford Eco sport. Hope someone can clarify this whether i am correct or not.

205/65-16 overall diameter = 16*2.5 + 0.65*205*2 = 666.5 mm

215/60-17 overall diameter = 17*2.5 + 0.60*215*2 = 683 mm

Difference in overall diameter = 16.5 mm

Ground clearance difference = 16.5/2 = 8.25mm.

Where you went wrong is the gain of one inch. The ground clearance gain is half an inch and out of half inch 4mm is lost to profile difference. Net ground clearance only increases by 8mm.
