Default Verna Crdi checked out

hey ppl,
i just chkd out the verna in the workshop and took some photos with my phone, thought i'd upload it. It was a blue crdi verna-comes only in one variant. The cars a/c is awesome and i did not like the driving position because the drivers seat did not have height adjusters. Its gonna take some getting used to.
Comfort is phenomenonal, much better than the fiesta and interiors are roomy and come in two tone beige and grey color.
Car is amazingly silent and i raised the engine and it felt as though im revving a petrol car. Not many features inside as i was expecting but all in all its pretty adequate.
They did not allow me to drive it though as that will be allowed only on official launch date which is the 25th or 27th. in bangalore.

An aveo was standing alongside the verna so here is a comparison of both their rear lamps

Also this car has 3+3 water jets for cleaning the windshield, as opposed to 2+2 in earlier accent.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics.......

Interiors look a bit Tucson-ish, or is it just me? That's no bad thing, though. But I wish they had a better fuel gauge. That thing is almost invisible.

Tsk, you can't stop rock'n'roll!!!

Nice work karanbajaj!
The rear of the car reminds me of a jag but it looks good (except maybe for the chrome on the hyundai badge)
P.S. one cant expect hyundai not to get inspired by any other car!

there was a photo on the side which said- experience the power of hundred horses. But no specifications were given by the person in charge. Btw The chrome above number plate does suck big time!

Well tsk there was no information of the bhp but on the side was a rather tacky sticker saying-test drive power of 100 horses. And ess i totally agree the rear chrome plate above number plate looks terrible.

thats a nice first impression, i think hundai is going to undercut ford in the price game, from the tech list he has mentioned its obious that hundai is planning to introduce it at 6.00 lacs or so and that will definetly affect ford.

Well to be honest it is neither. The international website of Hyundai puts it at 110 ps. Dont know how many horses that converts to.

For more info

Vikram if its 110ps then it means 108bhp(conversion rate being 1 ps=0.9863 bhp)

But i guess TSK wanted to kno if there was any indication as to the engine being detuned for indian conditions(read as 100bhp).

Gotta love that instrument cluster (just like the 220) with two big dials for the rpm and speedo respectively. Its a guaranteed stonker with 100+ bhp on tap.

Thanks Karanbajaj!

Dammit I just wish they'd do something about that front profile. It's really killing the look of the car, which otherwise sounds like a really good deal.

In fact, the front does'nt look bad at all from what I saw on the "Headlines Today" preview. It looked Grande Puntoish. The back is a little stumpy resulting in a small boot but interior space could be class leading.Overall, the shape is'nt very exciting but as a complete package, the car seems good.
