Thank you Uday, yes this Blue is really striking to look at. This colour itself has attracted many people in my residential area.

This colour isn't common, hence there is less demand & more waiting for it.

Congrats on the purchase. The Tiago is the most impressive Tata car till date. I loved everything about it when I sat in one.

If it can deliver a niggle free ownership experience, I think Tata have really achieved a lot.

Don't want to make the moment sour for you, but airbags are necessary irrespective of where your drive. Crashes at 30 kmph can also be fatal.
Make sure your next car has a minimum of 2 airbags.

Thank you landcruiser123,

Safety is a top priority for me, no doubt. But the Optional Variants weren't available with the dealers and neither they were in TATA Plant according to them.

I wanted the car with Airbags hence had finalized XE(O) which comes with Airbags, but that wasn't available according to dealer when they checked thier Allocation Status. I had to settle for Non Airbags version.

Another thing which I thought is, my daily commute is 25 kms. It's within city limits & the trip is Home to Office & Vice Versa 2 times a day. The maximum speed I can go upto is 30 kmph. Because
1. Road Conditions which cannot be called perfect
2. Dense Traffic across the 2 points(Office & Home)
3. Only driving inside the heart of the city.
4. Continuous Bumper to Bumper Traffic across various roads.

Even if I had airbags, it wouldn't have been different. Apart from Tiago, all our other cars have Airbags(2/6). I use them too when I want to. All these consequences made me to go ahead without Airbags. If I was in a city like Bangalore, I would have definitely bought a car with Airbags, because there some roads which permit one to drive at 50-70 kmph when there isn't much traffic. The same doesn't hold true in my city. Hence the compromise.

Congrats! The blue color looks good on Tiago. How did you find the seating position in the Tiago compared to the Wagon R?

Thanks Dry Ice,

Wagon R was tall, but the seats were of normal height. Here the low dashboard & high bonnet line will result in WagonR feeling taller from inside.

In Tiago, the seats are placed at a good height even for a Non Height Adjustable Seats. And the seat base is quite thick which results in extra height coverage, this makes it very easy to get in & out and also gives commanding view of the road.

Congrats on your new purchase, CarguyNish.

Wishing you lots and lots of trouble-free mile-munching.

Do keep updating your thread regularly. I am planning to buy a new hatch for my better half within a few months (to replace her 6 yr old Alto K10) and am interested on the long-term reports of the Tiago. I will keep up with your experiences on the Tiago to see if its viable for our needs.

Congrats on your new purchase. It's truly a great VFM in this segment. Even we have a Tiago in our family amd I can safely say it's a great product by Tata. Wish you many happy and safe miles. And yes blue color looks amazing. Very good choice. I've seen brown color also in person and it also looks fabulous. Once again congrats.

Regards

Thanks HappyRoadie & Congratulations on You're Tiago. May I know which variant have you opted for & is it a Petrol or Diesel ? Yes, Espresso Brown is good especially in sunlight, it's a nice shade.

Excellent, What was the waiting period ?

Since you have Petrol, you can create Ownership Report and yours will be the 1st Petrol one on the forum.

The SA was known to us so he got the car delivered in a weeks time. I will definitely start an ownership soon.

I hope you gave this as feedback to Tata when they survey you.

Also what is the cost differential for the O variant and is ABS included?

Congrats CarguyNish. The car looks fantastic in this shade. Have seen a couple of XZs on the road in this shade and loved them. Wish you lakhs of happy km.

It is a meagre 12k ex-showroom according to CarWale.

The difference in price between Regular & Option Variants is around 13-17k depending on variant.
ABS comes only in Top Spec XZ variant.

That's my only gripe with Tata. They should have included ABS in the option pack and could have priced it a little more (maybe 25,30k?). Right now people who want airbags + ABS, XZ is the only option. Maybe it's a clever marketing strategy. And it seems to be working too. I remember reading elsewhere on the forum that 60% of the sales are from the top variant.

And yes, the color is fabulous, yet to see one in flesh. Most of the Tiagos appear to be orange ones.
