Thats bad. The competition gives more. Petrol will bomb badly if mileage is not good.
Ford, Tata, Maruti, GM - All have something lined in this segment which gives more FE.

But I think to be fair to the 1.6 Logan, the way the traffic situation is in Mumbai, most 1.6 petrol enigines return between 8-10 kmpl, except maybe the Baleno.

Yeah thats true most 1.6 engines return around that figure in Mumbai traffic.
Also the 1.4 was consistently giving lower FE than 1.6...but those were pre-production units, so there could be some changes, but i don't expect much of an improvement in the FE figures.

I agree, most buyers with a 5 Lakh budget would expect a petrol car to return somewhere in the range of 11-12 kmpl. If those mileage figures are true, I think the 1.4 would be a loser.

P.S- Thanks drifter for that first hand Fe report on the Logan. My friend was waiting eagerly for that one report.

Nice review again geek,

The power steering controls have been removed from the doors, again is a cost cutting feature.

Basically the logan is a cheap sedan and should not retail at around 8 lakhs.I sincerely hope the logan does not go down well with the Indian market or this will be the trend other manufacturers will follow and we will see similar cars from toyota,gm etc.Cars sold cheap abroad but commanding a premium in the Indian market.

From the review it seems that engine is ok in Logan but the price and other factors are not in favour.

The car should not cost more than 6.5 lac on road Mumbai.

Renault and M&M you have disappointed India.

Renault has soo many other good looking and sleek models.Like the useless Peugeot 309 i think this will also go down very fast.

I havent seen the car yet but going on to the reviews this a build to cost car sold at not very tempting price. The engines might be refined but i dont expect punch because enthusiasts are not the target audience for Mahindra-Renault. Detailed and nice review by GeekSrik

The only thing that can save the Indigo is a bad M-R service network. Else MR-'ve got the game tied down pat

Well, good report GS. Looks like a let down, not like we needed another overpriced under performer in the market.

When i saw the logan i was excited, when i saw it on the road i was dissapointed, when i read your review i was more dissapointed and when i saw the price i thought of Fiesta/Verna/NHC which are a better bet anyday.

me too but was more disappointed when i came to know that Mahindra would launch it only in few cities rather nationwide. i think they want to study market response and then proceed further.
