Default there will be correction of price

The price will be determined on the Supply-demand basis, & not becoz of the competition.

After few months of production, there will be correction of price in Chevy Spark also, with some Discounts.

1.0 E : 366,926 (no air-con)
1.0 : 393,384 (air-con only)
1.0 LS : 425213 (air-con + power steering)
1.0 LT : 460059 (above + front power windows and some frills)
1.0 LT OP : 500925 (Fully loaded).

As you can see, the 1.0 mid-equipped version is at 4.25 lacs!! And with no front power-windows but everything else (and more), the Swift retails for 4.6 lacs on the road. What would anyone really opt for? That 35,000 more gets you a whole lot more car (power, resale, space etc.). Heck, this makes the over-priced Aveo (4.70 on road) suddenly look like a value price.

I know somebody who bought the SPARK because matiz was the best car ever made, and by that logic SPARK is the best car <10 L ever made.
Given that spark is selling 2000+ units a month, I guess many people think like that

Hi,

Maruti Swift vs. Chevy Spark june update from bangy:

LS: White colored - 4.16L All other colors - 4.21L
LT: White colored - 4.50L All other colors - 4.56L
Delivery : 2 weeks
FE: 14-15 city
Space at the rear: Almost same as Swift? Not sure...

Lxi: 4.55
Vxi: 4.88
Delivery : 4 weeks
FE: 12-13 city
Comfort levels: Both cars are comparable?

Which one is advised to be bought? After going thru this thread, i felt Spark is more likely to be prefered by women drivers

Great statement - that. So basically instead of being weary of competition........Hyundai & Maruti are actually celebrating. Long live the pricing policy of GM.

If they do not realize the pricing goof up - it's curtains for Spark sales - though the 36 month warranty is a Red Carrot........

Dont know how true this is...

I heard this from sales(men)/(girls):

At Sundaram, Cubbon Road, over 20 have been booked until sat. afternoon. ( 1 weeks time, i guess). One person told me, the maximum sales were for the LS variant ( Colors White and Red are popular it seems)

Around 30 bookings in Garuda Autocrafteven before a TD vehicle was available. (Now, this is hard to believe!)

So, it looks like there is a *BIG* fan following for the Matiz

If only the pricing could be more in the alto(slightly higher) region, this would be a fantastic car.

Red, White, Blue look nice with SPark, We can't compare spark and Swift because Swift is bigger than Spark for sure

Given the size of the Spark from outside its interior is very well used for 4 people on board. Quality is also very good, build quality is excellant!

I would have baught it If it had At version, I am waiting for one AT good small car may be TATA's 1 lak car I am waiting for

Regards,

Ravi.

One of the most major things I never found in a car before was that when I took the test drive of the spark, I was all smiles. I never smiled so much and felt happy in car before. Seriously nor the lancer, neither the wagonR.

I didn't quite get you here. All steerings I know of have always been round and circular. Is it something else that you were trying to say?

well, maybe hes talking about a wheel where the bottom is flattened out/squared off...you know, like the audi R8 or a Gallardo...

Default Cost is not an issue

Based on my data and test drive I'd say the car isn't overpriced at all. The Santro XO is around 4.3 Lac On-Road (Hyderabad) and a similarly specced Spark LS costs 4.4 Lacs. I found the engine refinement in the Spark to be of the highest order, and it certainly looks a lot fresher than a Xing. The only question is that of Service, and GM hasn't really given us reason to complain - unless I'm totally mistaken. The Estilo VXi costs Rs. 4.3 Lac on road as well, so all of these cars cost the same.

Guys,

I took a TD of spark yesterday and am very much impressed with the cars performance. Its sexy, powerful, smooth gear shift, stable and very very silent. Add to it a 3 year warranty and low cost of spares than santro/wagonr/estilo, you have a winner on hand. In bangalore iam getting Spark LS with AC, PS, Front Power windows, body colored bumpers, roof rails for Rs.4lac on road [4.05lac for metallic under GM employee discount scheme]

When i compared spark to santro, i felt spark is a much better package.
You can see lots and lots of santros. Its really a good car and VFM but you are getting a 1.1crdi santro in couple of months and Hyundai P-A which will replace santro. Then you will loose out resale value.

I am thinking about buying a spark in next month.
What do spark owners say?
