Sathya,
After my recent tour to Ajantha and Ellora (900kms total), I also thought that replacing headlight is required.

But yesterday again I took the car on highway for 25 Kms. Thought of adjusting the focus upto 50-70 meters only. Yes that is sufficient. I mean headlight position of 1 or 2 works for me. Try it out. Also try to clean headlights whenever you stop.

Also one finding is that SX4 manual says last two position of headlight are dummy but I can see all of them work.

[off topic, My sincere apologies for this!]
My SX4 too completed 2200km in 45 days. Can I continue to post in Satya's new opened thread or open a new one?

Do anyone know what allowed Wattage is per RTO norms?
It is difficult. Try the beam leveller and it helps.
Driving inside the city, I keep the beam at the lowest. And on the highways, I try and get the beam up, it helped a little.

My old car - Zen had better lighting. I am not sure if I feel like that because of the height difference or if its truly a better lighting.

I also ran through the Maruti accessories and they do not have a more powerful headlamp as an accessory. So its just not right for them to cancel the warranty if we change the headlamp. I can understand if they have an alternative.

It is 60/55W max - so typically manufacturers have 12V 60/55W configuration

Hi all,

I am taking delivery of SX4 ZXi (Azure Grey) on Saturday or Sunday. The waiting period was about a month.

I am planning to add the following accessories immediately:

1. Reverse parking sensor (about 4.9k)
2. Seat cover - artificial leather (about 7k)

I checked with them on the head light. They recommended that for city drive 55/60 W is sufficient and for high way drive one could use fog lights. Is this correct?

Cheers,
Jai

Hi Folks at bangalore,

Where did you buy the Parking sensors from and who installed it for you ?
Are you happy with their service (such as - did they mess around with the wiring) ?

I understand from my dealer(Bimal) that what they have is Maruti Nippon make and that it only has 2 sensors at the rear and none at the front.

Apparently they will also not install an after-market one.

Jai,
For reverse sensor try out Xenos from your dealer which has 6 sensors for Rs. 3800 including fitment.

@omishra: As per manual, I used to drive with headlight level 0 when I am alone. But yesterday, I tried level 1 and it seemed sufficient, let me try few more times and other levels. If it is sufficient, I will be happy that I needn't put my money on it !! Thanks for news that higher levels are not dummy. Please post your long term review in other thread (already many people on this thread posted their detailed reviews there).

I will enquire a known person in dealer shop if upgrading the bulb will void the warrenty or not. But I think we should stick to RTO norms and not upgrade.

@Jay: Welcome to SX4 club! BTW are you sure about art leather? Some say it is good some say it smells or so. May be, you can search threads on this topic. In my highways drive, I used fog lamps and it really helped.

Welcome Rambo as well to the SX4-club!!

Somewhere in this thread I had talked about Maruti giving only a single horn for the SX4,seems it was some batch or something, now all the cars have double horns is what I feel.

Also in the demo cars the horn, I think was retrofitted or something because in the demo cars the horn noise was felt more inside than outside,I feel this too has been taken care of now.
