Hi, after the price cut down of cedia by 80k and reduction in prices of spare parts by 40%, cedia is value for money for all the features tht it is coming with.. however, i have read feedback at other threads and they were really mixed..
Is it true that the:
1)Maintenance is expensive
2)Spare parts availability is not good
3)Low Resale value- i will own it for +5 years so thats ok.
4)Low mileage
Can cedia owners address my apprehensions? Thanks.

Hi Manu,
Am looking forward to buy a cedia, but had the following apprehensions:
Before you go on to read them, pls dont take this personally. this is all that i heard and read apart from the excellent stuff written about this car.

Is it true that the:
1)Maintenance is expensive- Reduction in prices of spare parts by 40%, how true is that?
2)Spare parts availability is not good
3)Low Resale value- i will own it for +5 years so thats ok.
4)Low mileage
5) Poor air conditioning
Can you address my apprehensions? Thanks. Let me know if there are other problems with the car?

Thanks Vaibhav

Vaibhav i have my Cedia sports for 6 months and have done about 5600 kms. It is early (6 months/ 5600 kms) to answer all your questions, but i will make an attempt to answer all the questions to the best of my knowledge

Yes spares parts prices have been reduced recently
2)Spare parts availability is not good
Cant comment as never needed a spare part
3)Low Resale value- i will own it for +5 years so thats ok.
I think with new models launch every year resale values are always getting worse. But Lancer/ Cedia have a fan following and there are lot of young people out there who want to buy these cars in second hand.
4)Low mileage
I constantly get 9.5 - 10 in city and 12 - 16 on highway (depends on driving style, traffic, road conditions, etc)
5) Poor air conditioning
Strongly disagree. Even in Hyderabad summers (40+ C) i run fan speed on 1 or 2 even when there are 4 adults in the car
Can you address my apprehensions? Thanks. Let me know if there are other problems with the car?

Thanks Vaibhav

I own Cedia Spirit for last 11 months.
Check my comments below...

Is it true that the:
1)Maintenance is expensive- Reduction in prices of spare parts by 40%, how true is that?
2)Spare parts availability is not good
I had asked for the OEM fog lamp kit, and I had to wait for a long time.
but when I had to replace the right ORVM glass, it was available off the shelf (costed me around Rs 900)

3)Low Resale value- i will own it for +5 years so thats ok.
Does it really matter if you're going to own it for 5+ years.
even if you buy the NHC for it's resale value today.... it'll be replaced by a newer model, and resale value of the current car will definitely go down after 5 years. instead there will always be steady demand for Mitsubishi cars.
Also if you plan to use the car both good and not so good roads, then after 3-5 years, Cedia will definitely be in a better shape compared to other cars in teh same price range.

4)Low mileage
I always get 10 km/lit in Pune's traffic with AC on.
comes down to 9 km/hr if I don't drive carefully
Highway is always 13-14 km/lit
And this is with upgraded tyres to Michelin Pilot Preceda PP2 205/60 R15

5) Poor air conditioning
I don't agree, AC is more than adequate, Only thing missing is climate control...

It's a great car for what you pay.

If cedia was launched by some other company or mitsubishi's name would have not gone down in india it would have surely been a great hit in india because cedia is really a great car which ****** engineers accepted it except for its outdated looks
