Default WagonR Ownership Review - 1500 km

So finally the day is here. Just given the car for the first service .
Purchased the car on 7th Nov.
First Long drive - 9th Nov
Kms done as of today -1480
Places covered - Coorg,Mysore,Chennai

Based on my experience here's the list
Pros :
Great mileage - 17+ on highway(ac on and off)
Excellent power steering.Response even at top speeds
Space - Leg space ample for both rear and front seats
Lots of luggage space especially since the seats are foldable
Gear - Unlike most reviews, I found the gear change to be smooth.
Steep climbs in Coorg were negotiated pretty well for a small segment car.

Cons :
Nothing great about the AC.Guess shldnt expect more from a Maruti. No idea about Esteem and higher ups.

Thanks
Kibi

Hi kibi, do you have the dual version or the regular version? Since you dont face any problems with gear shift, seems like Maruti fixed the problem or you just got lucky with a very nice gearbox

Enjoy your drive anyways...

You will get better after the 3 services. My ex-car, 2000 Model wagon R used to give me 20+ on highways.

Once you get used to the gear changes they are smooth. A new driver will find it notchy.

Great to hear that you also are getting mileage around 17kmpl on h/ways. I used to get the same during long drives on h/ways (again ac on & off). You can expect the mileage to imporve a little after 1st service. Do post some pics.
