I had a TD too but it was very short & that too on a customer car so no definitive conclusions. But from I could gather, suspension seems to be much better than the Verna with none of the funny pogo movements like the Verna & the steering also is more feelsome & natural.

If I get to test another piece for a lomger duration, will update this thread.

Can Getz D hold 6J alloys without touching wheel arch?
I beleive it handles like a dream on 205/60-14 michelin xm1+/pp2. What do others say?

6j alloys isn't gonna be the problem but the 205/60-14 will scrape with the wheel wells.
205/60-14 is too tall for Getz. 195/60-14 or 195/50-15 would be a better option.

Yup, its not as balanced as the petrol Getz. Reason? That heavy engine in the front.

That makes sense.

Is handling better than Verna CRDi? If not, considering the price difference and features, Verna is a better option.

Petrol and diesel have different suspension.

BSM had a comparision between GetZ Crdi and Swift DDiS. Following is an extract from the article:
Quote:
The Swift diesel just has no answer to the Getz's onslaught in a straight line. But around corners it can keep up with the Getz. Despite all that prodigious power, the Getz can't make the lithe Swift disappear from its rear-view mirrors. Unlike the Swift, the Getz's mechanical pump steering takes longer to respond to inputs with the initial response being near-dead before loading up rather uncharacteristically. It also lacks ABS, so you plan your entry into corners with caution. Unlike the lighter front-end of the Swift, the Getz is a bit more reluctant to play ball. Overdo it on the Swift and it'll start to lose its tail and the Getz will disappear into the distance once again. Despite a bit more understeer, there is also more grip on the Getz. The 165/80 tyres aren't just up to the job to take anything beyond a point on the Swift, while the Getz's 175/65 tyres stick better. The Getz also has a wider front track that makes it more planted around corners, but despite this, the Swift is more up to the task of planting a smile on your face.

The review can best be termed as 'confused'.

Recently saw a new Getz D in showroom with 205 tires. 205/?-14 you recommend?

You mean Hyundai are selling the Getz D with 205 mm tyres? Or is that a one-off? Site still advertises the skinny tyres...

razor and jassi,
I saw it in Advaith, outer ring road belonging to a customer. Getz had 205/14 inch yokos on Hyundai branded alloys. It was a white Getz. Was looking awesome

I read somewhere on the forum that one can get ABS kitted before taking delivery of Getz D. Can someone confirm this?

This one is on the top of my list. Get a Pete's and it should zoom. Although, Prajesh has confirmed that the braking is decent, ABS is definitely a plus. I only want to hold off for the Punto, if it comes with a bigger MJT than the puny 1.3.
