Correct size should be 205/55-14.

Will it scrape with the wheel wells?

Sorry vabs. I donot have a pic.

I dont think 205/55 will scrape because side wall height is 112.75mm
and stock tires have side wall height of 113.75 which is within range.

GC will be reduced by 1mm if we get 205/55-14 tires. Am i right kp?

IMO Centre of gravity changes as weight increases due to heavy diesel engine in the front. Result - reduced handling characteristic compared to 995KG petrol.

But, I think the scrapping problem happens due to the width of tyre while turning.

KP, What will be correct upsize in 15" rims?

As i have seen Getz with 205 tires, no scrapping while turning.

Visit TYRESAVE: Tyre Size Calculator and calculate right tire size yourself.

This looks like good news, anything concrete though? I am hell bent on the Getz D as the 3rd car at home when on vacations, but cannot muster enough courage due to lack of ABS and Airbags.

Vabs - 185/55 & 195/50 R15 are correct upsizes. 205's I suspect will touch at the rear under load.

yes please i am guessing dealers should be able to offer abs kit if hyundai can't - i mean seriously if getz petrol can have abs why not getz diesel - the same kit should work

Yeah should cope as long as you're not ham-fisted with the throttle! And if you find them inadequate then get a set of Advan Neova's, they are now available through Yoko India.

I am running 205/50/R15 for over 2years on my Getz, even on full load not a slight hint of scrapping.

Petes needs better tyres? All Pete's does in makes things happen faster, ie, kill few seconds off than you had prior to it. Just coz you fit Pete's doesnt make the car unstable unless you want to do 190kmph everytime.

Advan's will be too soft right? Heard they see that the car is glued to the road.

I think he wants to know more about its road holding ability!
