i would suggest all those intersted in buying a Ford Fiesta first go through this thread -> Ford Fiesta 1.4D ZXi Ownership Woes (Ford Fiesta 1.4D ZXi Ownership Woes)

I have faced all sorts of promblems in my car . From the suspension needing replacement within the few thousand kilometers to Diesel leaking from the engine .

i have had the car for almost 2 years now and the problems do not seem to ever end ....

And Ford does not even care about all the trouble a customer has to go through becasue of their substandard , low quality product .

I just clocked 38,000 kms on my 1.4 petrol Paprika Red Fiesta and every kilometer has been rewarding.
Last week I did close to 1,000 kms in a day and was fresh as a daffodil at the end of it.

Its truly a drivers car, and rewards an enthusiatic driver well.

As for the A.S.S. of Ford. Well one of my dippers had blown out so I went to Planet Ford and requested if they could just fix this "minor" hickup quickly. In half an hour they got some one to fix it for me for free. All I had to do was wait in the AC reading Top Gear and watching the IPL matches on te TV while sipping coffee.

Ford A.S.S. has come a long way.

Even I would vouch for Ford service in Hyd by Mody Ford..it is better than Maruti service by Varun Motors.
MMs case seems to be a lemon, and I feel sorry for him. He can shake the bigwigs at Ford India, and I am sure they will respond to him.

In the rare case that you are dissatisfied with our services, please write to the owner of your dealership at md.planetford@dealerconnection.in In case you service your car at another dealership, please replace the dealer name in the e-mail id with your current dealer name
---------------------------------------
Maybe the disgruntled owners can write to that email. I received that a couple of days back as part of the Ford PR campaign.

Now my car has run 5500 Kms in 8 months(not very high as I was away for nearly 2 months) and until now the car drives like a dream...My running
is mainly constrained within the chennai city traffic with occassional highway trips. I'm satisfied with the car in both. The car pulls right from 900rpm even at 3rd or 4th gear and it is real boom in city traffic. That is
what everyone needs the most. The engine note is a music to your ear
and I'm consistently getting 10.2km/l in heavy city traffic which I think is
very much acceptable.

Overall I'm very much satisfied with the car. Also the ford service for me is not at all bad(infact it is very good) and the company's response for customer query is totally ahead of the average.

The only problem I find with some people here is that if the fault happens with maruti or honda or even hyundai people accept that but if the same thing happens with ford people say ford is bad. even wrt costly spare parts people have to understand even though hondas spares are cheap they sell the car at a huge premium which may be compensated with the fords slightly higher spare cost. wrt maruti people have to understand that maruti has developed so much because of the small cars( same thing with hyundai) which means they are a volume producer so that they can\
compensate on spare prices. having said that still spares of SX4 is not cheap.

Let us patronise good cars so that the quality of the overall industry gets
improved in our country.

Well said, srinivasr79. While I agree with your comments, I think the ire on Ford service and praise on Maruti service has more to do with historical perceptions. After all it was Maruti that first focussed on customer satisfaction that brought smiles to many faces. But that smile is slowly getting eroded now due to several niggling issues with their premier cars.

On the contrary, Ford A.S.S. in the past was atrocious in the days of the Escort and the early years of the Ikon, and that impression is getting carried over to current cars, even though their service and reliabilty has improved by leaps and bounds, at least in cities like Hyd.
I've already mentioned in another thread than I find Ford service to be better than Maruti service from the time I bought my Fiesta. So enjoy, dude!
