Default New C220 MT. EDIT : Pics on Pg.3

Guys,

Finally got my C220 MT. I must say the torque is brilliant !! (Thanks GTO)

I drove about 100 Kms in Bangalore yesterday and the car is brilliant. Excellent handling and ride quality. Moreover, I even get a FE of 10+ kmpl (accd to the car display).

Awesome aspects:

1. Inbuilt bluetooth module. Very nice to pair your phone and make the car a big speakerphone. Upto 15 phones can be paired. The delivery lady (from Sundaram motors) told me even the E-Class does not have this feature

2. Amazing power & torque

3. The COMAND system (similar to idrive) is very well implemented. Music control is implemented perfectly

4. Looks awesome!!. The back is a bit controversial, but from the front its a real killer.

A few gripes:
1. What's with the reverse gear? I need to use two hands to change to it

2. Takes a bit long adjusting to the foot-brake rather than the usual hand-brake

3. On idle can make out its a diesel. Not much noise, but surely its not nil.

Here's a snap

Congrats on a great purchase ! And welcome to the German diesel club

The bluetooth coming standard is quite bold of MBIL. They have finally felt the heat from BMW and raising the bar.

I too had a manual C180 a few years back, to engage reverse the lever had to be lifted. But it wasn't a problem at all, easily did it with one hand.
Can you post a pic of your gear lever? Having to use two hands is ridiculous !

Will post more pics once I get home.

@Sahil - The reverse is next to the 1st gear. There is no up/down lever, rather the gear has to be push left beyond the 1st gear with huge force. Most of the time I end up using both hands to do this!

@BUSA, ram, iraghava - Sure. Will post interior pics and write up a detailed review. The interiors is completely black and I love it!. Looks really sporty.

The day I took delivery, there was a E class also being taken. Both the new C and E were side by side. I seriously could not make out much of a size difference from the front (not sour grapes, but objectively)

Congratulations on the torque-machine! Spend some time understanding her limits, then go out and eat some RS'. The new C seems to be a significant step forward, especially on the ride quality front.

What tyres have you got as stock? If you aren't entirely satisfied, please change them ASAP. You will have to pay a minimal exchange price if you do so now. Also, more pictures!!!

Dont fret, you will get used to all three. Its just a matter of time.

Congrats on the car. Enjoy driving this beauty.

Just curious, what is with this foot-brake and hand-brake? Are they connected and you have a single interface for both of them in C Class?

the other grill (with the big three star embeded) is offered only on sports model even abroad and this is pretty much the grill for all other models. not sure if they are to launch the sports edition in india !!
