dont worry, after 10 years on TN bikes and 5 on a TN car, i have learnt that cops never play with private cars. bikes - take them for a ride left-right-center, anyways thx for the advice...

Congrats Santosh!

Inline with Snaronikar's thought, but then, you seems to know your way around.

Happy motoring! :-)

hi Happywheels, nothing special, its just that you never know which baron or a king maker goes around in a Omni or a 800 or a santro in bangalore. So Cops never flag down a car unless it does something really stupid like a fender bender or a drunken case. Btw, i always have the previlege of saying I live 32Kms away in a diff state-came for sight seeing, I am not driving with a TN01 - chennai, or a TN72 - kanyakumari Regn to say i came for a few hours. Yes - you can surely say I know my way around these cops - PS - I am bloddy fluent in Kannada, enough to survive in Karnataka.

----------

Indigo CS Dicor Update

Brokered with the Sales Manager to get FEW freebies - not much - floor mats + mud flaps + perfume - probably 1K worth.

I mutually-offered a deal of fitting the ...
power windows - OEM - 12,750.00
3M Light tint sunfilm(3yr waranty) 2306.00
Under boby Anti Corrosion from Wurth 3050.00

Now my question is the 3M film and corrosion work - Ok for 2306 and 3050??? is it too expensive? Bangalore guys - please guide me.

Also I am quoted

central locking without sensors (3yr warranty - Auto Cop) - 4860.00
3M Teflon quoting (2 free coatings down the line) - 3750.00

Are these worth too? Please advise.

Guess not. As far as i know, the lighter the tint, the expensive would the price be. The manufacturing process is different based on the shade/tone of the film. Other members, please educate.
Rs.3050/- for the Wurth treatment seems fine too, as i recollect reading it as Rs.2800/- for the Indica.
Finally, congrats on your purchase decision!

Hahahahaaa... great. First with the argument with the registration number; yes, they will buy it; the cops will know for sure, if not any other registration series, atleast that of Hosur to know a short sprint vehicle.

And (this is the icing in the cake), knowledge of the language is the best (best!) one! No one can beat that!

Mmm... what I understand is that it is not just the lightness, but actually the amount of harmful rays that are blocked by the film. The more that is blocked, the more expensive it gets.

Congratulations svsantosh.

I would love to have a review on the CS Dicor.
Actually i find the car better proportioned than the Indigo.
The rear is more shapely and doesnt feel like a bolt on (looks wise).

anyways enjoy the ride.
Ride safe.

P.S.: Waiting for the review as i am keen on purchasing one for self or for my dad.

Regarding teflon coating, I would advise to read this post from one of the experts from this forum :

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/384563-post6.html (ARTICLE: Must-have Accessories for your new car)

In my town the quote for 3M teflon + anti-rust coating is Rs. 3300 + 2200. This is the official quote. They can give a discount of Rs 1K.

What model of autocop are you offered? Have a good look at the features. Make sure it has silent locking / unlocking and NO automatic unlocking on engine off.

Default Congrats for ur new booking

HI,
Congrats for ur new booking. Last month i planned to book Indig CS TDI. In the final moment i booked swift dezire VDi. After waiting for a month and still dont know when i will get my car and the price also increased by 25K in bangalore, i thought of cancelling my booking and go for INDIGO CS TDI.
Reg your fittings, dont pay and get anything from the dealer.Last month for my frnds alto we fitted

Power window ---Autocop ---11200
Central locking with remote -autocop --2700
we got it frm a shop in JC road -JJ enterprises. we got some discount also. Better check with the shops around jc road or call directly to autocop.

Underbody black coating -- 950 (Frm the dealer service center --without bill)

Also as suggested by other forum members,
try to change the stock tyres.i preffer for Apollo Acceleris tubeless.
Also get extented warrenty for 18+30 Months...some dealers give only for 18+!8 months. It cost Rs 1150/ per year.

Happy journey

Hi Santosh .. like everyone else .. Congrats on your booking the new car.

Keep us updated on the ownership experience.

Btw.. I had bought a Xeta GLX in Coimbatore for my parents in Sep 2006. The dealer experience was really really bad. They were infact very lethargic to the point that they looked not even interested in making the sale. TAL being the only dealer in Coimbatore must be the reason. Can u guess the how long I had to wait for that??? A cool 3 months. IO had booked in beginning of June and got the delivery only in 3rd week of September!! This when the demand for the model was lesser than the current trend.
