Hi all,

I missed one day and find my thread as long as rope - thanks all for your inputs.

I am going to do a Answer ALL here...

1) Yes, day by day the bearings are setting in and I can feel to drive it around 1500-1800RPM, BOOST is above 2K though. I am sure after 1 service it should improve.

2) FE - after the 1st day tank fill did around 200Kms, still a good way to the go less than half way mark. Anyways not bothered till 2-3K KMS until it settles down.

3) using heater control for AC chill is a good idea, will experiment.

4) GArage updated.

5) Pwer widw - Auto COP, does a good job, I am a bit sceptical about its installer though, Need to show to a autocop mechanic (company walla), feels like the motor isnt getting the full power while going up.

6) Got the Manual updated with CS Details fully.

7) TWO funny things - B Pillar has a sticker for air pressure recomend - reads Indigo Marina - 27 27 for all 4 ----- engine timing cover also has a sticker reading Indigo Marina with some bar codes and a engine# matching mine, must feel good to have one engine fitting 3-4 car models!!!!

8) I drove a ALTO for 5 years with 90/100 bulbs setup and badly missing it - but CS has got the fog lamps to help me out. Surely going for the 90100 though.

9) Spent the entire MONDAY at Anwar's Auto Fusion - Kormangla - Bangalore - got the following setup.

-----ICE Setup-----
HU - Pioneer 3050UB (over from Alto)
Amp - JBL 4Ch - GT5 - A604 (New)
Front - JBL Compo - GTO507C (New)
Rear - JBL CoAxials- 6*9 937's
Scoshe EFX wiring - Sound Dampners for front doors.
------------------------------------------

Also got Auto Cop central Locking setup - Not Connected to Indicator blinkers, Siren Disconnected and Reverse Gear siren also not connected. ONLY ONLY Door lock and unlock.

---------------

Total Installation - ICE + Ctrl Lock - 6000Rs (Includes rear wood plank, 1 RCA Cable (i had other), sound damping)

Auto Cop - 4200Rs

Compos and Amp - 9650 (I kno...Wait - this includes A Buyback of 1000Rs for my JBL 4" from Alto front, and a 2Ch Sony Amp for 1500Rs)

TOTAL Price - 19,850. (ICE+AutoCop)

Sence of having a GREAT ICE (really) and a lazy approach to secure the door locks (PRICELESS)

----------------

----------EDIT----------- ICE Pics follows in some time----------

why'd you settle for 5" comps. You could have gotten away with 6 inchers on spacer rings
Also , have you done something to the rear tray?

well I insisted to keep it stock, probably why its stock ... whats the difference between the 5 and 6" comps?

the stock fiberglass rear tray is gone... plz wait for a more clearer pic - the one here is a wood plank custom made to fit the indigo/ca series. and the rear stop light is cut and made to fit here...

the stock one would have vibrated itself to death on the volumes i listen to !!!!

500 Rs.. ok never mind I am having a blast with the current setup. So money;s is well spent.

---------- Update---------

I was driving back with better half back to home from office yesterday, listening to a mild AR Rehman number, suddenly - a HUGE bang from the speakers, (rear). i pulled over, and pushed the codriver seat forward and saw the AMp light was off, there was a mild crackle in the speakers before that bang - I immediately took of the HU panel to make sure nothing works - and checked out the amp and all spekers for any burnt smell or something like that. nothing - so I left it there and decided to check it in day light.

Drove to Anwar's in morning and he still wasnt there - I explained the issue to one more installer - who did the work actually - and found the problem ASAP. If you look at the install pics a few posts earlier - you will notice the speaker output wire very close to the Seat frame... there was one fouling with one of the Steel seat frames while driving over bad roads. So it was effectively shorting out when ever it touched the frame.

I got the frame covered with plaster so that it doesnt foul any more - and took a real long TD till hosur and back - nearly 70Kms over VERY VERY bad roads and at high Volume and feel the problem is sorted out.

I was also assured the JBL does a Auto Trip every time it senses a short - there are 2 inbuilt fuses for the AMP and 1 more near the battery compartment. So he said there will be no damage to the amp unit.
-------------

Keep watching...

trust me - If not jealous - He sure is appreciative of TATA and VFM He is currently a 1.6 Sport owner and that 60+ Price/Litre in bangalore is sure hurting everyone - He is a Bhpian too - (Boss, if you see this please feel free to quote your thoughts)

Road noise nil due to underbody treatment from day1 - so dont know how it feels without one - try asking crosscap - the CS GLS (petrol) owner. Inside the body - the codriver seat is squeaky over bumps - must get it fixed in 1st service. And the Idling noise is Loud (Accept it), am not sure how to kill that in cabin noise - but while driving at 1500RPM + the noise is very negligible for a car of this class. But 2 JBL ovals in rear and 2 JBL 5-1/4 comps in front sure help to kill any noise (LOL)

The ride is something I am very very happy about - its super soft & smooth , TATA has recomended 27 pressure on all 4 tyres - must be helping the sodt ride factor. And may be the lesser rear overhang compared to the Regular Indigo must be helping matters.

Looks like TATA has got a winner in its hands. Hope to see many more on the steets soon.

the idling NVH of the TDi is annoying , but once the turbo kicks in, it becomes very rev happy, till upto about 4k rpm, and even though it is loud, i wouldn't call it noise

Hi Santosh,

Except for music, nothing else will reduce the idling noise. The DICOR is equally vocal (or more) in this respect. The latter scores on driveability over the TDi.

> The ride is something I am very very happy about - its super soft & smooth

What I felt too in my short test ride. Even for the short distance, I could feel the difference.

Can you try the following and tell me whether you feel any difference:

Crank the engine to start it as soon as the heater light goes off (you may be doing this now).

Crank the engine to start it about 10 seconds after the heater light goes off.

Thanks.

> after 300Kms now the needle is just on the half way mark (after major city + AC always) - looks like still around 15 mark - pretty Ok for me for a new
> car.

That is good mileage. It could be more than 15 also. What is the fuel tank capapcity in CS?

--- will try that trick - not sure what you want to see though, is it something to do engine not starting after the 10Sec glow plug cooling?

--- 42 as per manual - but I always do a tankful - tankful (shake it till brim until airbubbles come out)
