| I Have short listed swift vdi and cs tdi.But i have concerns over cs like NVH ,maintenance and resale. What is keeping me away from swift is long waiting period (cs has a waiting period of 40days) price(compared to CS) and cramped space. So really confused.Owners of can help me with valuable suggestions |

| greenhorn - Dicor is expensive by another 50k compared to TDI .(still 20k less than vdi) also waiting period is more .dont know exactly .read somewhere here in tbhp that production of dicor cs has not started.I know that vdi is gem of an engine but space is too low inside. |

--FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE----FE-- I am sensing a 17-18 FE on my car already - driven close to 600 Kms after tank full and needle is still not reached 75% mark - lets pray -- (all this in bangalore to Electronic city day time traffic with 75% A/c)

| BHPian | its official guys........ my 1st real time tankful - mostly city with AC and about 100kms of GQ Roads with AC 684Kms - 37.35 Lts (shake shake baby - take all bubbles out) - 18.31 KMPL (wow) ------ Cross cap - Point to note---- The redline area starts at around 1/5th to 1/6th of the fuel meter semi circle- visually - but dont get fooled by it - My findings is - after i hit the red line mark the tiny red LED lit up and I travelled around 20Kms with it - filled her up to BRIM, and I filled 37lts - Meaning - lets say company claimed 42lts tank + 3 lts tube (Max to max) makes it 45 BRIM capacity - so the moment the red line is hit your are left with ATMOST 5-7 liters of fuel which is NOT GOOD for the air lock problem - so a lesson learnt (lucky me) - is to fill her immediately she hits half way mark. ------- (Crosscap) - let me know your #s after you hit the halfway mark... **************** Owner Review******************* I drove to Devanahalli airport with mum and dad for a Jolly Ride on saturday eve. This was after the tank filling at HP Company Bunk KR Puram (Power). This is a GREAT CAR for the highway. It really doesnt impress a BIG Foot till 4th or 5th gear and 2000RPM. After that this car get VERY VERY Responsive. Keep shifting between 4-5 and at around 2000-2300 RPM the car is ready to prowl on the next victim ahead for a overtake...Turbo rocks. Brake is quite ok for the speeds I travel at and I am intending to find out if there is ANY difference between the Indica - Indigo - and the CS Brake booster/master? 14" and a shorter rear overhang helps a lot. Sqeaky-squeaky very very irritating - fault a nut loose under codriver seat - culprit - Anwars at Kormangla for the AMP Installation. Will do a remove - retight during 1st service. While attacking REAL Steep gradients - I am not still at ease with the gearing. After taking her till 1800 RPM in 1st gear I change to 2nd and the car doesnt pickup RPM until a good few seconds - enough to make everyone impatient. - gurus help .... I also continued on the way back beyond silkboard junction towards Hosur - Quite bad roads and bumpy too - courtesy work in Progress GQ. Mum and dad were fresh as a lily after the new airport - silkboard - hosur drive - I am very impressed by the softness and the stifness setup of this car. (mum slept off on the rear bench - was shocked at a time to see a head missing in the overhead mirror). I visited the showroom earlier yesteday and got the not-working BOOT Light to work - thanks to a loose connection. As my dad was a veteran Clutch designer and quality manager for truck and tempo brands across India and nearly 32 years of working closely with customers - TATA - he acknowledged the FACT that TATA is a great IRON WORKS company - meaning the body - suspension - ENGINE - ROCKS - Everything NON MEtal - interior, plastics, electricals, electronics and fabric and fit and finish are SAD and leaves lot to be improved. Another point - I walked into the service advisor room and asked for a bottle of IFex System D for diesel - and was promptly quoted - NO SAAR, dont use it until at least 20K kms - may cause a Engine Seizure. Is this true? Please advise... Thats it for now.... 7 days - 900 Kms (at least 500 of that is weekly routine usage - I needed this Diesel car)

| BHPian | Hi santosh, > my 1st real time tankful - mostly city with AC and about 100kms of GQ > Roads with AC 684Kms - 37.35 Lts (shake shake baby - take all bubbles > out) - 18.31 KMPL (wow) Fantastic mileage! My overall average in 42000+ kms is just under 14kpl with AC on always. You can wait until the quarter tank mark to fill in. Half way mark is still better. When it reaches the half way mark it will approximately take 18.5 litres of fuel to the brim. Thank god, the Indica and its cousins are easy to fill to the brim. My City is a pain in that way. I am still waiting for the results of that trick I mentioned. I wanted an unbiased finding!

-------Update ---------BAD BAD BAD PUBLIC--------------- I had parked my car outside my better halfs Grandpa's place in Hosur 3 hours ago (quite a dark lane leading to the end of town) and was chatting with the old man when I heard a thud - cheked outside - nothing visible. After coming home noticed this !!!!!!!!!! A DENT on the windscreen Done by a SHARP STONE and a 2-3 MM glass CHIPPED Off - POSITION - RIGHT side Extreme BOTTOM WINDSCREEN - some one drew a Circle 3-4CM Diameter!!! -- heart sank in, kidneys Pumped a good extra Liter of adrenalin - but what use, made sure mum/dad sleep peacefully , consoled them its nothing and can be Driven with. Indian Ishtyle comment - small "Dhristi" (Aka Bad thing) in LIEU of a Bigger Damage Avoided. Pity is - Even the first (actually all 3) dents in my Alto NEVER hapened when I was Driving. Why me!!! Why my car..!!! What can be done about this regd insurance? Is it 100%, 0% , 50%??? - Cholamandalam Insurance.

| BHPian | yeah guys... wrong wiring. Kind of happy its just tiny, but still straight in my line of vision. Can live with it , remember a thread "how many days/kms before a 1st scratch-dent", Well - 1 week, 900+ Kms, windscreen chipped by a vandal .... just for the record...

| BHPian | Oh no svsantosh! I opened your thread to get some exciting news about your car. I am quite shocked to find this kind of vandalism. We Indians should not ever talk about civic sense. As a community we are still lagging far behind than other countries. I would advise you to kindly contact your dealer unless you have not yet got the insurance policy papers. If you have got the latter, kindly contact the insurance company. I think it will be covered fully by your insurance. Probably the whole windscreen has to be replaced. Take a snap of the spot to keep a record with you.
